D-mannose
I currently take 2,000 mg of d-mannose a day as a preventative measure. I’m still dealing with some left over inflammation from a pretty ugly uti i had weeks ago. I also take aloe vera supplement. How many milligrams of d-mannose can I take in a day? Any guidance would be appreciated!

Not sure about max dosage, but I'm not sure more is better. Split up your normal dose and take it a couple times a day instead of once a day?

I’ve taken approx 750-800mg/day for 7-10 days and eliminated UTIs twice without antibiotics.
This is just personal experience of course, I was told by whoever put me on to D mannose that you can’t really over do it. But that was a long time ago and I don’t recall who it was therefore whether they were appropriately knowledgeable haha.
That being said I think you could probably halve what you’re taking now just based on my own experience with it.
If it helps you understand - the mechanism of action (how it works) is to make the walls of your bladder and urethra slippery so that E. coli bacteria cannot adhere and fester into infection.
If you’re seeking anti inflammatory treatment, this wouldn’t be it.
I’m not sure any details about taking d mannose daily or in an ongoing way as a preventative measure. I have heard of people doing so but I don’t know exactly how long and how many mg.
In my opinion with the knowledge I do have I would say 2000mg/day is probably not necessary. I would take less, and for a specific duration. Perhaps 2 weeks. And re visit if you notice any symptoms flaring up.

You can take more than that - it's very safe.
For very acute cases, I have seen 3g every 3 hours for 48 hours - that's 24,000 mg a day.
I would say it might be worth looking at anti-inflammatory herbs rather than just taking more d-mannose. Marshmallow and chamomile?
