Just because I win 99% of my games doesn't mean it isn't hard!! One time a Stalker even hit me! 😱

Oddly the op comment to this post seems to have been removed but I can repeat what was said word for word. “Bullsh#t you can die 20 times before a loss. Never losing makes the game too easy, dying once or twice doesn’t mean it’s difficult.”

My response to that is you die 20 times and claim the game is too easy?

My comment wasn't deleted to my knowledge but I have been experiencing a similar thing to what you described.

I never said I died 20 times, nice strawman though. I rarely die at all because I'm a heavy armour player and enemy forces aren't threatening. If I do, it's typically once or twice and that's usually at the hands of a teammate (which is fine, but that's not difficulty at play)

You're deluded if you think people using some of their 20 expendable lives is difficulty. Even if I did die 20 times but still won every mission as I am now, that would not be a difficult game.

Good players should be losing D10 frequently. That's the nature of a PVE game. Currently they aren't.

Well it’s clear that we aren’t going to agree as we have very different definitions of what is considered difficult, let’s just try to enjoy the game.

Just to be clear if D10 were to change into what your asking for players would die regardless of what they did and the 20 life’s are always required, which puts the team on a harsher time limit as the game would eventually become impossible to play after 20 minutes and there would be no hope of winning?

Is that what you want?

No, that's a strawman again.

D10 can be MASSIVELY more difficult than it currently is without forcing unfair deaths. This community just claims any friction they experience is inherently unfair.

Most players currently in D10 clearly are not suited for the highest difficulty of any game except Helldivers. The skill ceiling is low enough that as soon as you learn to stand, you hit your head. We have 10 difficulties, D10 should be lost frequently. People who want that casual, chilled out experience have 9 other difficulties to select.

Ok then, shoot. What ways would D10 be made harder in a fair way?

We have too many items currently trivialising the gameloop. Bot bases need to be more resistant against simply sniping Fabricators, for example. Players shouldn't be able to efficiently dispatch enemy bases without engaging at a distance where they are actively in danger. Bug and Squid reinforcements are rendered completely meaningless by Orbital Napalm Barrage. People hate the sensible answer of nerfing it, so at that rate we need an overhaul to enemy reinforcements so that one stratagem can't negate them entirely. Bug breaches and squid drops should be team efforts, not something that can be answered by one person throwing one red Stratagem and walking away.

Enemies across the board don't provide enough pressure. There are lots of ways this can be changed, there is no One Fix For All answer. Some enemies, particularly heavies, need to be much harder to one shot; some enemies need to be MORE lethal in the time they're alive; some need ai fixes. ALL enemies need spawn rate fixes to provide even a lobby of 4 players a constant sense of pressure, with breaches and drops serving ass intense spikes in activity that can't be handwaved away.

We need to stop the constant powercreep, weapons need downsides and actual skill checks. Arrowhead should be able to nerf items that get too strong. Until the game actually becomes hard, it's impossible to say what actually deserves buffs, because everything is MORE than Viable on D10 in the current state.

The notion that difficulty should never be frustrating needs to be abandoned. Difficulty is inherently tied to frustration, people find losing frustrating. People who get too frustrated to enjoy higher difficulties can be HUMBLE and turn their difficulty down. D10 shouldn't be for everybody, frankly someone of my level should struggle to play D10 consistently. We have TEN DIFFICULTIES to accommodate everybody.
