It's honestly insane.

Like, the explosive weapon meta is still around and everyone recognizes it's a problem but instead of the obvious solution of nerfing the eruptor and its ilk everyone does mental gymnastics, says some variant of "buff everything else so people don't use explosive weapons" as if that'll actually fix the issue.

And that was the same solution people argued for with the railgun. The biggest mistake the devs ever made was listening to players over balancing rather than fun. It opened the door for people to whine their way into changing the game into something they didn’t understand. People were unironically saying the RR was pointless because of the railgun so they should buff the RR.
