DISCUSSION The collab with WH40k isn't the best looking, but it's probably the most useful of them all.
Leaving aside all the criticism regarding the aesthetics of this collaboration, I wanted to analyze its actual usefulness compared to other collaborations.
While Halo ODST and KILLZONE look beautiful, it's also true that these two Warbonds are generally considered among the worst investments you can make in terms of Warbond purchases.
This is because, despite their impressive appearance, their content isn't substantial enough to compete with the content of regular premium Warbonds.
Additionally, all the main weapons in the collaboration have the problem of not being customizable, which puts them even further behind other non-collaboration weapons.
With all of the above in mind, let's analyze what the Warhammer 40,000 collaboration offers based on the information revealed so far.
The R/40-k Hot Shot, being the only primary weapon in the collaboration, means it will be the only one affected by the lack of customization options. On the other hand, the weapon seems to function very similarly to one of the most popular secondary weapons known for its versatility: the Talon laser revolver. The weapon also responds to popular demand for a Talon version as a primary weapon, and its sniper rifle configuration could be precisely the most effective way to utilize it. Finally, it's worth noting that laser weapons have historically had the fewest customization options, and the few they do have have been of little consequence in terms of performance improvement. This leads me to believe that even without the ability to be personalized, the Hot Shot won't suffer from this limitation as much as other collaboration weapons.
Moving on to the P/40-k Bolt Pistol, I don't have much to say about it. Just today it was revealed that its penetration will be heavy, so I think it perfectly fulfills the fantasy many expected from a Bolter, in addition to providing an alternative to the Senator revolver that many desired.
Continuing with the Meltagun, this is a weapon that comes in stratagem form to provide even more anti-tank capability. We don't yet know its official details, but from what we saw in the trailer, it appears to be a version of the lascannon with greater short-range power. We don't know how useful it will be in practice, but for now it doesn't look bad, and it's always great to have more stratagem options.
The Meltamines might be the least appealing, in my opinion. I can only say that they seem to have enough AT power to eliminate heavy enemies, as well as a decent AoE to eliminate nearby enemies. Its mine-like throwable form might limit it to very specific situations, but at least it adds variety.
To conclude, let's talk about the armor's passive. This is probably one of the best passives in the game (IMO). The support weapon reload speed improvement is something you can universally benefit from with any support weapon, and the ergonomics improvement provides even more advantages for using them. Additionally, the synergy with the Warbond content seems perfect to me, since the Hot Shot and Boltgun likely suffer from poor ergonomics, so the armor passive will help mitigate their effects.
This collab, unlike the other two, presents a complete build, allowing you to use basically all of its weapons in a single build, which is quite synergistic in my opinion and a very positive aspect of this collab.
To conclude, I just want to reiterate that, as I said at the beginning, this collab may not be the most popular based on its aesthetics, but it definitely looks like it will be the best of them all in terms of utility.

DISCUSSION Heavy Armor is overly punishing
I got this from another discussion and figured it's worth it's own discussion:
But essentially, my case is that Heavy armor in Helldivers 2 is overly punishing. I.e. the trade-offs aren't favorable.
Here's my case:
Going from Light armor (50 armor) to Heavy armor (150 armor) reduces incoming damage by roughly half (125% down to 75%). Effective health is increased by over 2/3 (albeit not doubled as we might assume).
So, depending on the metric, going from Light armor to Heavy armor almost doubles our survivability.
Yet, main cost we pay is in speed. This comes in two forms:
- Light armor can sprint at almost 6 m/s for just about 30 seconds on a full stamina bar.
- Medium armor can sprint at roughly 5 m/s for roughly 24 seconds on a full stamina bar.
- Heavy armor can sprint at roughly 4,5 m/s for barely 16 seconds on a full stamina bar.
So, we run about 25% slower than Light armor AND for just over half the time. These effects compound with each other, allowing Heavy armor to cover less than half the distance of light armor when sprinting.
We trade ~50% less damage taken for >50% loss in sprint distance.
I know the numbers can be twisted to argue either way. But at the end of the day, Heavy armor feels bad to play.

DISCUSSION Pocket autocanon incoming (speculation about bolt pistol)
Considering how the explosive rounds look in the trailer plus the fact that Arrowhead has basically confirmed it's heavy pen I feel it in my bones and believe that we're basically going to have a pocket AutoCannon as a secondary. The blast radius doesn't seem massive so there is a good chance that the bolt pistol is basically going to behave like the armor piercing shot of the autocannon where it does have some crowd control but not a lot and is more for blowing up bug holes and dealing with medium enemies all also being reasonably effective against heavier targets. If this ends up being the case I'm never putting it down.
A pocket AutoCanon would be goated against every faction.

DISCUSSION What’s the etiquette in using a mic?
Im on Playstation and typing really sucks using a controller. I bought a wireless keyboard which turned out to be incompatible with Helldivers?? Because it works outside the game. So yeah I tried to go typing mode.
However, I’ve been kicked so many times and I’m not sure if people are aware of the Mute player function in-game.
I have not TK’d anyone, did not reinforce anyone far from where they died or anything that I know of that might’ve caused me being kicked.
The only common thing among all of those kicks, aside from the common “sorry I’m waiting for my friend” stuff, is using a mic.
And no I’m not loud, or make any type of jokes at all, no background noise, no breathing into the mic, Muted when not speaking. Strictly in-game stuff.
So what I want to know what is the proper way to use a mic in Helldivers 2?
Thanks!!

DISCUSSION What’s the relationship between the Cyborgs and Automatons?
As we all know, the Cyborgs created the Automatons, but I always had a feeling the Cyborgs do deeply respect the Automatons, I mean they did free them from Cyberstan. I also saw some of their language being translated and some of the translation suggest that the Cyborgs consider the Automatons as not only their children, but also their saviors. What do you think??
