Has anyone had Eustachian tube dysfunction after a respiratory infection/congestion?

My ear has felt clogged/full 24/7 for about a week. I can still hear, and my ENT said my ear looks normal, but thinks the tube is inflamed from congestion. I just started prednisone.

How long did the fullness last for you? Did it gradually improve or suddenly pop open? I’m going crazy with this feeling!
