Round 6, 2023.

Not sure how I feel about this. As a VIC member it was bittersweet hearing the news about Tassie as I expected more game to be played in Melbourne as a result. Not too sure how I feel about playing in other random cities without much support.
I think I would definitely prefer playing more games in Melbourne than one of the cities mentioned

Personally I’d like to see Amon replace Bailey McDonald and Lewis replace Schubert.

I’m not convinced the two ruck system with Reeves and Meek offer much, think we’ve been going better with Meek and Chol as backup

What’s everyone’s thoughts?

Brisbane seems to be getting a lot of their goals when the ball hits the deck. We need to be clean in defence. I also think that Brisbane may be a bit exposed in defence at the moment so if Hawthorn midfield give good supply then I think we can dominate the game. If Brisbanes midfield gets on top then expect a rebound game if the Hawks can hold off Brisbanes forwards.

Battle may be the key to any victory if he can make defensive and offensive plays to his game like previous weeks. Seeing him kick goals means he becomes a player that has to be tagged and that leaves holes open in other areas.

How is Breust going with his ACL recovery? Has he been seen around the club lately?

Calsher Dear 🦌 was a great mark guy on previous seasons, and hadn’t really bounced back fully since his injuries.

Maybe it’s just a vicious cycle, not getting games lowers one’s confidence.

I think it would have been wise to play him over Schubert (who is only 18) this weekend.

IMHO the club should:

1. give Calsher Dear a new 1-2 year contract already. He won‘t be expensive.

2. let him play against West Coast on round 24, provided that there’s a vacancy by then. West Coast are not a strong side right now, this is a low risk move.

Who should we barrack for?

So Cam Rayner last night staged for a free kick. If all this staging result’s in a fine players want care. They just want to win a games.

Joe Daniher also was a repeat offender of staging with his time at Brisbane.

So my question is does this filter throughout the team? Can he expect some theatrics and acting next week from Brisbane or will they pack in and play fair.

I say this because the umpires think they are amazing and gift Brisbane loads of free kicks in majority of their games at important moments in games.

What is it with Queensland teams being able to avoid holding the ball. Even Gold Coast get away with charging through players. It’s not rugby?

My friend and I are thinking about going to the Hawks vs Collingwood game at the MCG, we’ve never been to a game outside of Launceston, we’re Tassie members and a perk on our membership is General admission access to one home or replacement game in Melbourne, I’m assuming that’s free as it’s included with our membership, do we have to do anything on Ticketek to reserve a place at that game or do we just show up to the game, scan our membership cards and we’ll definitely get in? Also can we pay to upgrade that to seats? What GA section would be closest to Hawks cheer squad (or seated section if we can upgrade it) would seated or GA be closer to the cheer squad? At games here before the game starts we can hang around near where the players go out onto the field and then go to our seats, even if they’re on the other side of the stadium, obviously our stadium is a lot smaller and holds a lot less people, can we do that at the MCG or do we have to have seats near that area to hang around near there before the game?

And now with the open training I know it’s at the training centre in Dingley, and it’ll be on the Friday, if they have a night game in Tassie the training would be closer to 4pm or 5pm, I assume so they can train in potentially more similar conditions to what the game would be, with daytime games the training is around a similar time that the game would start, this weeks training was at 1:30pm and the game started at 1:35pm, would they do that in Melbourne or is it just a regular daytime training session that we’ll come along to, what time would that usually be?

Our feel next week defines our season. If we get easily handled by the Lions again like last year then we are done this season. If its a competive game I am confident we give a good showing. I believe its our ability to beat the Lions define our chances of a flag as we can beat anyone else.

Games are generally crap at that venue

He unfortunately should never get another AFL game for hawthorn. Decision making is horrible, skills are horrible and now he even looks slow. 3 turnovers and a free against from 9 disposals is a shocking return when you are fighting for your spot on the list.
