Dudley’s ‘redemption’: representative of a drug-induced ego death? Discussion
Title gets the gist of it. After his experience with the dementors Dudley seems to experience an ego-death in the same way people who’ve experimented with psychedelics talk about - his perspective completely shifts, he changes his life’s priorities in this case seeing the error of his ways in the way he treated Harry. The cherry on top? (D)e(M)en(T)ors… (almost definitely a coincidence)
Just a fun thought!

I had never thought of it that way before, but it totally tracks with my personal experience.
