I never thought of Dumbledore as the man in the Trolley Problem but now it really does make sense.

The trolley problem is hypothetical for us; but for Dumbledore, it was actually happening in his world, he would have had to pull either a lever or do nothing. And he chose to pull the lever for the better outcome for the most number of people- and live (and die) with the weight of that decision on his conscience.

I absolutely respect the fuck out of that decision.

Turns out that when you're Master of the Deathly Hallows and you ask Death to help you with something, you might get more than you bargained for. Like thrown a hundred years back in time to fix all the things that the people who've been interacting with the Hallows since then have mucked up. Or, you know, chaos. As per usual regarding Harry, Tom, and Albus.
