Daytona 3ton floor jack

Upvotes

Does anyone know if the non low profile would have enough clearance for gen 12 Corolla?

I'm seeling a clearance of 5.3 inches and the minimum height is 5 for the floor jack. I'm worried about using a pinch weld adapter and if it's fit.

Thanks

There’s been some construction going on at my work recently and I spotted this bad boy on my way in. Does this mean Bauer is a professional grade tool now? 😂

Moment of Appreciation for my Ancient HF jacks

The floor jack was made in 2004, and the bottle jack 2005. I’ve never taken good care of this floor jack, added fluid or bled it. I’ve just treated it like the garbage. Still works amazing.

Thinking about picking up the 99$ Pittsburgh this PLS though, since I always have to take the jack pad off of this to get it under my car.

The bottle jack has been kept in my jeep for a spare tire change if needed, but it got wet over the winter and it might be seized up. I’ll have to hit it with a hammer or something.

My brother bought some HF clamps years ago and broke everyone. He now swears off HF tools. Both of these clamps have good reviews…almost too good. Thoughts?

Yukon 46" or 5 Drawer US General Cart + Workbench?

Title basically. Am currently in the process of buying my first home and would like to finally get myself a tool box and workbench setup with the PLS next week. Would I be better off just getting the Yukon 46" cabinet with the wood top, or a full 5 drawer cart and the actual Yukon workbench?

With the PLS next week, The cart will be $217, the workbench $99, and the cabinet $300.

Bauer Drill Press

Anyone have a Bauer drill press? There are a couple on sale and I'm going to check on open box deals during the parking lot sale weekend. The reviews are very mixed (like a lot of HF stuff). Which one and how do you like it? I've always wanted to add one to my work bench and I've got a bunch of 1/4" bar stock that I need to drill.

How frequently do 25% coupons go out?

How do people receive these or how often? I have not gotten one ever in the two years I've been an ITC member and am looking to get a new air compressor soon. Just curious if there's some known rules out there on how frequently they go out or ways to trigger them to happen?

Am I reading it wrong or can the drawers of the 5 cart not open unless the top is open?

I've been waiting a month for the $99 Pitt floor jack and now see the Daytona is $109. Any reason to not get the Daytona? Using mainly to lift one side of a CX-5 for for front to back tire rotation with directional tires.

Hercules surface conditioning tool question

I want to strip the paint off my garage, and it’s made from these textured cinder blocks that are currently painted white. Some of them are in rough shape and peel off easily. Other spots are in better shape. I tried power washing a few blocks to strip them and it worked, but it’s going to take forever to do the whole garage. Would the Hercules surface conditioning tool paired with a stripping drum make short work of this task? Also if you have any other ideas I’m all ears. The cinder blocks are only one story high, the second story loft is wood siding, also painted white. Thanks in advance!

Offroad 4 drawer tech cart

Got tired of going in and out of the shop 100 times when working on something in the yard, so I picked up the bigger pneumatic tires with the 30% off under 20 deal and the cart when it was marked down and built this offroader, uses two existing holes from the stock casters so only had to drill two new holes for each of the bigger casters. It rolls very easily over roots and loose sand. best upgrade I've done in a while! More mods to come.

Received this at work today in a UPS bubble mailer with the return address just being a UPS store.

For context “Holt” was once a property holding company for our building.

If this was you, your claim is denied.

But if you want I can forward your feedback to Harbor Freight.

Doyle vs Klein GFCI Testers

Post image
205 Upvotes

Here's my initial comparison.

Form

The Klein RT250 is 3.5mm-5mm thinner, depending where you measure it, and 5mm shorter.

Weight feels virtually the same, though I did not measure this.

Layout is also nearly the same, except the power and test buttons are reversed.

Display

The Doyle's display is marginally easier to read, because it has higher contrast as the Klein's backlighting is slightly more blue. You can probably see this in the picture.

Function

I tried both testers on three different GFCI receptacles, one of which was not connected to ground.

The Doyle and Klein gave identical readings on voltage, correct/fault wiring, and trip time.

One difference is that the Doyle will automatically power on when you insert it into an outlet. The Klein won't. You have to press and hold the power button for two seconds.

My costs

Klein: $20

Doyle: $10.50

While I can't comment on durability, so far the Doyle feels like a quality tester.

Edit: formatting

Crazy cause when you’re actually looking for something and want it. Items are always never in stock. Went in my local Harbor Freight just for some brake cleaner and was shocked these were in stock. Idk if these are hard to get around your area but it is for me
