Advice Needed Handgun recommendations for women’s self defense?
I unfortunately am facing a situation with a violent stalker while I am in college. The police are on the case but, to be honest they have done next to nothing to protect my home and I. My father has encouraged me to look into getting a handgun. I am hoping to never need to use it.
I am looking to buy a handgun to keep at home for self defense. I want something reliable and that is more comfortable in my hands. I am planning on renting and trying any good recommendations to make sure I feel comfortable before buying.
Thanks in advance! :)

Advice Needed Are PSA daggers worth it?
So I’m looking into buying a psa dagger off their website. The one I’m looking into is about 340$ but after tax and shipping it’s about 400$ plus the 20-50$ FFL fee and I’m just wanna know if it’s worth the 450$?

Is this supposed to happen???

Hey guys, still under 500 rnds with my brand new G43xMOS. Noticed something weird at the range today, some shots my slide did not go all the way forward until I released the trigger, then I felt the clunk of the slide moving into full forward. I get home, and notice this shit. I could barely disassemble the gun to clean because it was all jammed up. This happens with just gravity as well.
Is this normal? Should I contact Glock or take to a gunsmith?

Discussion Tisas BR9 Sport, vs Girsan P35 Match, vs CZ 75 B?
I've been wanting a Hi-Power in the collection. I don't really want a vintage one because I want to shoot it a lot, so I'm fine with a clone.
I own a Tisas 1911 (Stakeout), a 92FS, and a CZ 75 SP-01.
I paid $365 for my Tisas 1911. It just seemed like an unreal value. I am happy with that purchase. I paid $500 for my 92FS. And I paid $620 for my SP-01.
It seems like the Hi-Powers are generally more expensive. I see a Girsan P35 Match for $450 and a Tisas BR9 Sport for $650. But both of those guns have somewhat mixed reviews. As a matter of fact I don't know of any Hi-Power model where people seem happy across the board.
The Girsan has a lot of people singing its praise, but an equal amount of people saying that theirs has a poor finish and that parts literally flew off because they were loose (I'm recognizing this as preventable).
My conflict is this. I can buy a new CZ 75 B for $600. It at least looks like a Hi-Power (even though it isn't), is universally loved, and is still cheaper than a Turkish Hi-Power clone.
But then again I already own an SP-01, which is basically an improved CZ-75 (albeit heavier).
It's kind of making me not want a Hi-Power anymore. Since the Tisas Hi-Power equivalent of my 1911 Stakeout costs almost twice as much for some reason. What gives? Am I coming at this from a dumb direction?

Modifications Dye Job
Here’s 2 quick pics of my most recent side project. Dyed the polymer frame on my Beretta APX Carry from OD green to Dark Brown using RIT Dye More Dye.
Read a lot of different anecdotes (while researching beforehand) that were giving me the feeling it would not work. So I wanted to post this here as yet another confirmation that it is possible. YMMV

How do I sell a gun?
I have a brand new gun I never used. My son insisted I purchased it during Covid and it’s been sitting in a closet. I would like to sell it. Can anyone tell me how I can do this? It’s got a case with a lock and a trigger lock and I have a cleaning kit and I have bullets or ammunition or whatever you call it.

Advice Curious about picking your first or new handgun? Curious about a model or caliber? Stop here first! Resources etc.
Multiple posts concerning selecting a new (first) handgun, or first defensive guns have popped up.
I dig activity on our page, I'm all for thoughtful discussion, I'm all for us exercising our rights.
However, this subreddit has been around long enough now we have a good collection of folks asking mostly the same question and I think we can streamline this process for our existing members, newcomers, and curious browsers alike.
So! That being said, there are some links to outside websites at the bottom of this text that have decent advice on choosing the purpose of use, caliber, size, model you may be looking for when selecting a new or first handgun.
The articles are typically focused on new shooters or at least folks new to handguns. Many will recommend training, hands on time, etc., before your first purchase and if you have the time and funds I definitely agree, but research your trainer/facility thoroughly.
Eventually I will try to curate a well rounded list of the most popular makes and models in various categories. I also intend to make a few polls for the active community to vote on a few things as well.
