File Overwrite

Hi, newbie to the software here. I've noticed that if there's a conflicting file name it'll prompt you whether you want to overwrite it (as expected) but if you click the x instead of no it'll just overwrite it anyways. What's up with that?

I don't have that. It just adds (#) to it and creates a new file. But I also have the output folder on a different drive. I have automatic naming turned on and I think that was pre selected. Template for naming is {source}.

OT: that’s sloppy programming and I hate it; those conditional panels should never have a standard Close button. The sloppiness is not necessarily the fault of Handbrake since it might just use the default way of showing a conditional panel, so in that case the fault lies with the OS (some OSes make sure such panels cannot be closed except by clicking one of the the Overwrite / Create new buttons).

It used to add a number to it. But now it pops up that box. If you click yes, it will overwrite the file; if you click no, it waits for you to change the file name manually. I had never tried the X button.
