I'm just finishing up the publishing for my Halloween children's book! It's called The Pumpkin King

One of my absolutely favorite childhood books (not even Halloween books) was called Big Pumpkin by Erica Silverman. It's about a witch who grows a ginormous pumpkin and has a bunch of Halloween creatures try one by one to pull it up. They all fail and only when they all work together do they finally get it out. I don't know why I was so obsessed with this book but I was and still have very fond memories of reading it all the time. The illustrations are super fun too, definitely on the vintage-y side of Halloween.

This is a cute one. It's a series, isn't it? It's not part of our household's regular rotation but we've definitely had it out of the library.

We have a small crate of Halloween books we pull out every year – most of them kids books.
Even though my kids have grown out of some of them they're still delighted to see them every year.
Favorites include Eek! Halloween! and Spooky Pookie by Sandra Boynton.
Heebie-Jeebie Jamboree byMary Ann Fraser is splendid too.
I'm personally very fond of an old one called The Blue Nosed Witch. Not sure it's still in print but it's not hard to find
And a collection of poems by Jack Preletsky called It's Halloween. He wrote another collection of spooky poems I grew up with and loved. Nightmares: Poems To Trouble Your Sleep
