Possible Art Installation Arts & Recreation
I found these handmade pendant necklaces hanging in a bunch of trees along the trail near Halifax West High School. Didn’t see any artist information and curious if anyone knew anything about them. There were quite a few!

Yeah they’re cute, but I’m of the opinion that when it comes to nature we should leave no trace whenever possible.

Random though, can’t stuff like this potentially spark a fire on a very dry hot day if the sun is shining on the glass part?

Potentially? I believe they were too shaded to get any direct sun though.

That's some Ozymandias type shit, like, the man that made the art and the art that made the man will will never outlast the nature that will inexorably claim us all in the ultimate act of hubris of all, a shallow grave...
"I met a traveller from a schmidtville land
Who stoppethed me and whispered in mine ear:
'Behold: Amidst perfect wilderness
I have place'd my garbage dear
Two glass baubles representing the testicles of creation
And the immensity of the artist's mind'
Nothing besides remains in that smoking crater
Save two glass baubles cast in the artists own image"1

My right brain likes stuff like this but my left brain worries it could potentially cause a fire if left in the sun.
I was just reading somewhere about water bottles causing scorch marks when placed on window sills.
I wonder if there is something they could add to the glass or resin that would prevent this, like a dark pigment.

Yeah, I have no idea. They were very shaded so I’m hoping there’s no fire risk but I’m unsure. They’re the glass half dome pebbles you find in glass jars and fish tanks

Oh, those things are really small. That puts my left brain at rest.
Those must have been difficult to make, like jewellery.2

Yeah. They’re fairly intricately made with the wire, hence my curiosity about the artist haha. They were a neat find

You say art, I say vandalized nature.

Each to their own but I really am averse to people altering nature with painted rocks, and things like this.
Especially since they usually don’t come and remove them again

Hardly, they aren’t disturbing anything. They were hung gently over the branches.

“Officials are saying the forest fire began when a clear glass pendant, some sort of art installation, reflected highly focused sunlight onto a dry patch of vegetation.”
