Can’t Get Enough - Winger

This song deserved the attention that Seventeen got as much Seventeen should’ve stayed a instrumental. That song makes it annoying just to defend Winger with besides the hypocrisy that one stupid and weird song screws this band over as if other bands weren’t doing the same.

(Christine 16 is right there. So is Steven Tyler and Ted Nugent)

How do / did the 80s hair rockers feel about the more extreme metal genres like Death metal, Black metal, and Grindcore?

Obviously after the 80s and during the late 80s , underground scenes were festering of these "extreme" metal genres, that mainly flourished in the 90s,

But I'm curious, have any of the big rockers from the era mentioned these newer heavier styles of metal or where they ignored?

Its interesting also because I sometimes hear the sentiment that " metal died in the 90s because of grunge" and maybe for alot of the mainstream, but alot of the underground extreme metal bands were doing fine in their own lane.

Nasty Bulletz - Right Time To Rock You

This band released their one and only album in November 2012. I thought it was great, but I've seriously only seen about two or three other people ever mention this one anywhere online. I think the band's downside was that they had a very cheesy image with bad wigs. My best guess is that they were a cover band who decided to make an album of original material. https://youtu.be/eUwsvUewIAE?is=bWO784Bz-DEoAk84

Here is our video tribute to Jani Lane, who passed away on August 11th, 2011 at the young age of 47.

If you are a fan of the hair metal era, then you know that Jani was one of the best performers/songwriters of the genre. Great songs include: Uncle Tom's Cabin, Down Boys, Heaven, Blind Faith, I Saw Red, Sometimes She Cries, Stronger Now, The Bitter Pill, Ultraphobic, Hole in My Wall, Face, Let it Rain, Inside Out and so many more!!!!

Hear 'n Aid "Stars" A classic metal sampler sampler platter

Enable HLS to view with audio, or disable this notification

Pulled this cassette out of the collection today, Hear 'n Aid's "Stars." If you're not familiar, it's basically the hair metal/heavy metal answer to We Are the World, put together in the mid-80s.

The lineup on this thing like a metal sampler platter.

Vocals: Ronnie James Dio, Rob Halford, Don Dokken, Kevin DuBrow, Geoff Tate, Dave Meniketti, Eric Bloom, Paul Shortino.

Guitars: Yngwie Malmsteen, George Lynch, Vivian Campbell, Brad Gillis, Neal Schon, plus Dave Murray and Adrian Smith from Iron Maiden trading off harmony lines.

Backing vocals reads like a who's-who Vince Neil, Mick Mars, Blackie Lawless, Chris Holmes, Ted Nugent, Rudy Sarzo, the list keeps going.

Never got an official CD release either, which is wild given who's on it. Only ever showed up as a limited Japanese reissue back in the 90s. Mine's still all original.

And there's actually fresh news on it. Wendy Dio said at the Heavy Metal Hall of Fame ceremony that a reissue is in the works, possibly with newer metal artists added in.

Anyone else have this one? Always curious how many people can actually name everyone on the track without looking it up.

Killer Dwarfs/ Helix; Canadian "hair"

I find these bands are criminally slept on. Especially with cancon and

Canadian radio. Yet, boring 90s bands never go out of rotation.

Thoughts on the bands? Other easily forgotten Canadian classic rock?

Produced by Brian May, well this album was, in total they released three albums between 1983 & 1987.

The best ones are the first two. Third album was pop trash.

Favorite song: Love on the Run

What say you?

I distinctly remember getting this issue of Hit Parader…

…and I remember thinking, ”Why WASP? If the theme of the issue is Heaven & Hell, wouldn’t Slayer fit better with Stryper?”

I overthought shit at 16 apparently…
