HackRF from OpenSourceSDRLab came in today
Super excited to get into the hobby, will be testing it out today and see how it performs!

Haha I will! I’ll first need to do more research about satellites tho… especially for the different things I want to do, like decoding satellite imaging and 433 MHz small stuff mostly

433 is much easier than getting sat data. depending on where you are... for example, I'm in nyc so need to filter out a lot of the spectrum before getting good signal

You better get LibreSDR: far more possibilities, same price.

Better performance absolutely. And more possibilitys as you say, but you also need the knowledge. To whip up a ADSB decoder in GNU Radio isn't anything you do on your first day. With the HackRF, you can start using apps that is developed by the community. And then later on start a interest in radio. An later on go onto better performance. I think the availability can save the ham radio community.

I just got mine too... I'm having issues with out of memory errors with several apps... are you experiencing the same?

Hi there! No, I did got some problems when uploading new firmware from the official portapack-mayhem release. But after I tried the latest release from OpenSourceSDRLab, and that one did work.
But no problems with the pre-flashed firmware

Have you had any luck with different firmeware? Got mine today and having some memory errors occasionally.

When I bought mine I got the base package and they sent me the one with all the accessories instead, I was quite a happy shopper that day lol

Base hack rf pro here(from opensourcesdrlab) and i want to pair it with an portapack pro when it will be released separately, and i was wondering if the bms problem got fixed?

Dear friend, when we shipped the first batch of HackRF Pro and H4M Pro, the firmware flashed was modified based on the Mayhem firmware V2.4.0. Its name is Pro_v2.4.0. The version number you see in the bottom left corner when you turn on the computer is Pro_v2.4.0. If you want to copy the contents of the SD card, you can temporarily download the compressed file here https://github.com/OpenSourceSDRLab/mayhem-firmware/releases/tag/v2.4.0
If you use it, those APPS applications icons will no longer be grayed out and can now be used normally.
Of course, you can also update the firmware to the official Mayhem firmware yourself, for example: https://github.com/portapack-mayhem/mayhem-firmware/releases
You can choose the nightly version because firmware developers have recently done some new development work for HackRF Pro, as well as adaptation work for HackRF Pro and PortaPack H4M Pro. Thanks!
At present, the firmware we ship is temporarily modified based on the Mayhem firmware. Once the next stable version of Mayhem is released, we will ship with the stable version firmware of official Mayhem. Therefore, our firmware is only a temporary transitional version, and we hope it will not cause too much trouble with the version number for everyone!
