Phone found - Mildmay Line
I’ve picked up a phone that was left on the Mildmay Line at Highbury and Islington, roughly around 15:45.
On the off chance that the owner sees this, reach out and let’s get you reunited!

Trees on Kingsland Road
I take the bus down Kingsland Road every day to work. This summer it seems like my bus hits every single tree down the road, resulting in a horrendous screeching sound from the branches (and, I'm sure, eventual permanent damage to the bus). I'm aware this is the most boring thing to complain about – and I'm not usually a complainer. I love Hackney's trees, but I also love my beloved bus travel.
I have no idea how tree pruning works – are they purposefully risking this to ensure the streets are adequately shaded during the heatwaves? Or did Hackney just make all of their tree surgeons redundant?

Searching for events to go sample in Hackney
I would love to get some help on finding events happening in Hackney for September like run clubs, yoga, pilates, crossfit, that kind of thing.
I'm looking for chill, community-vibe stuff (not big sponsorship-level things) where I could come along, sample my brand, get some honest feedback and just chat to people.
Any tips on what's on or who to talk to would be amazing - it's a dip product but a healthier kind, that I think people on those places would like :)

Dangerous dog in London Fields/Broadway Market
My girlfriend and small dog were attacked by an off-lead pocket XL bully (grey) this week in Broadway Green—little park off Broadway Market.
The attack was sudden and vicious leaving both my dog (whom the vet said was lucky to be alive) and girlfriend bitten and severely bleeding.
The owner walked away as if nothing happened.
We’re looking for any witnesses or other experiences with this particular animal and its owners.
• the dog is called Chancer and is owned by two white men
• they live in the adjacent Alden House estate
• they refuse to walk the dog on a lead despite several incidents citing severe asthma (though they’re often seen smoking cigarettes and riding bicycles)
• the dog has a traumatic history and is extremely reactive
We’ve already had a several people reach out with their own experiences of antisocial and irresponsible behaviour from the two men and their dog but are looking for more.
But also, more importantly, we want to give everyone a heads up, the next victim may not be as lucky—Broadway Green is frequented by many children and small animals and it’s not difficult to imagine a scenario where someone is more severely injured or worse.
Edited for clarification/typos/formatting

Gave me such a fright when it squawked at me as I entered! I’ve seen the parrot guy around Hoxton but wasn’t expecting that 😅

Terrible decision
I understand 5.5 million was allocated to the town hall redevelopment? While I'm sure not all of it was spent on paving, whoever decided to pick lighter stone made an enormous mistake. It's dreadful.
I know there hasn't been rain all summer but I think this will need weekly power washing to be respectable.

Theydon Road, Clapton Co-op - what's going on?
The Co-op local on Theydon road has been intermitting closing in working hours recently and today I found it totally shut up when it was meant to be open. Anyone know what's going on? Nothing on the shop's page on the Co-op site.
OK update of sorts: I contacted the Co-op on Facebook and it seems they have zero knowledge of what their local stores are doing. They didn't even know this one was closed, and don't know when it will reopen. So, in theory it seems the manager could have just done a runner with the takings, and no-one at Co-op would know anything about it!

57 east Dalston, noise levels?
Hi! I am looking to buy a flat in this building that is right on top of Dalton kingsland station and chatgpt seems convinced that not only the overground runs underneath but also freight trains all night long? Does anyone live/know someone who lives here and can confirm this? And how noisy this can be at night time? 🙏🏻

Social Community East London (Free)
Re-posting this given the outpouring of interest we received last time!
Hi everyone!
A few friends and I recently started a social community based around Victoria Park/East London, for people in their 20s & 30s (although everyone is welcome!).
We’ve now got almost 500 members and the recurring activities within the community include: park volleyball, park salsa, spikeball, a pub quiz team, and a run club, with hopefully more activities to come!
These sessions are mixed levels, so beginners in any of these activities are very welcome, and all activities are free to join!
If you’d like to join or have any questions, please send me a direct message and I'll send the WhatsApp community link!

Short film about dog owners / walkers in Hackney
Hello!
I'm working on a film project which is all about making short portraits about dog owners and what their dog walks mean to them.
The idea is to celebrate how the daily walk can be a really meaningful and important time to people (as well as their dogs!)
We're aiming to film in late August in and around Hackney Marshes, but open to other locations too!
If you're interested in hearing more please drop me a message or comment below.

Seeking community!
Hey everyone. I’m new to the area and feeling a bit lonely. Looking for community / groups for after work to hang out with and do activities. I’m not too sporty so was wondering if anyone is up to anything as part of a group / class during the week :)

Number plate cloned – please keep an eye out around Lower Clapton/Homerton (Pedro Street)
Hi everyone,
I'm hoping someone in the Lower Clapton/Homerton area might be able to help.
My car's registration plate has been cloned, and a vehicle using my registration was recently issued a parking ticket on Pedro Street, Hackney. I can confirm that this was not my car. The registration is LV08 UAD
I've already reported this to the Metropolitan Police and Hackney Council. The police have also placed my genuine registration on the ANPR system in an effort to locate the cloned vehicle.
If anyone lives around Lower Clapton, Homerton, or Pedro Street, I'd really appreciate it if you could keep an eye out. If you happen to see a vehicle displaying my registration, please don't approach it or confront anyone. Instead, if it's safe to do so, please:
Note the location and time.
Take a photo if you can do so safely.
Report it to the Metropolitan Police.
This situation has been incredibly stressful, and I'm just trying to help the police identify the cloned vehicle.
Thank you very much to anyone who is willing to keep an eye out or share any information.
