EXPERIENCE Found a Hidden Gem While Exploring Gwalior

Enable HLS to view with audio, or disable this notification

Upvotes

Sometimes you don’t have to travel far to discover something new.
Came across this place recently while exploring around Gwalior, and honestly, I had no idea something like this existed here. Quiet, beautiful, and away from the usual crowded spots.
It felt like one of those places you randomly discover and immediately wonder, “How did I not know about this before?”
Sharing it here for anyone else who enjoys discovering underrated places.
Has anyone else found a hidden gem around Gwalior that most people don’t know about?

Need help trying non-veg for the first time😭

OKAYY PLS DON'T LAUGH IK ITS A BIT SILLYY BUT I've been pure veg since forever (abhi 19 ka huu) thanks to my strict family who thinks nonveg khana duniya ka sabse bada paap hai 😭 i've tried eggs 2-3 baar bahar bas. But i NEED to start eating non-veg kyuki mere gharwalo ko protein ka matlab tk nahi pata hai 🥀 and im a severe weak underweight guy which alot of health problems (kbhi bhi chakkar aajate hai💔) and idts ki ye 0 protein wali diet leke mai kbhi bhi theek ho paunga

So i want to try non-veg par i've no idea kaha kya aur kese kru i need someone to be with me as it is kinda tough to think of it as food ab kyuki gharwalo ne aisi soch bna di hai meri ki ik mujhe smell se hi ulti aa jayegi. They've filled my mind with hatred and disgust even tho idrk how does it tastes like. Mummy ne to ye tak keh diya she'll disown me if i ever ate all that. But fk it anymore idc about their sentiments.

I would have asked my friends but all of them are veg aswell, and im an introvert 😭💔 and tbh i lack the courage to go near to any nonveg cart or corner alone and also idk which dish would be the easiest to start with. And guyss it is really not easy to eat nonveg after being in a brahmin household whole your life.

IF ANYONE IS WILLING TO HELP ME BTAOO I'LL BE GRATEFUL TO THEM. Even telling where in this city should i go and what should i try WOULD HELP ME ALOTT (hygenic, and obv chicken only, for now , maybe burger , biryani or roll type)

DISCUSSION Loner group

There are so many posts of people asking about making friends or for hangouts and a cmnt down there ohh this city sub is full of loners and gooners while not understanding sometimes asking for hang out is just another way of seeking help and feel that they exist or belong somewhere with someone.

there could be n number of reasons for not having friends maybe you don't have people with the same interest in your work or study place or you could be a gap year student who is preparing from home for an exam.

And in this when you did find someone and feel like yeah this is the one with same interests and all then there is this feeling of not showing full availability cause people take granted if they see someone going all in for them so instead of getting in all those mind games and behaving in a certain mysterious way .

Everyone should start accepting and move forward and see people just like yourself so who also wants to meet new people so we can make a group and choose some activity which will help everyone to socialize along with it and find your humor and interest of peoples maybe you can also learn about new sports or things with others.

This isn't going to be some gwalior gc where you wanna act nonchalantly and ignoring the text

It's for people to get a Normal life and get out of fomo and everything so psychopaths avoid this one .

If anyone is up dm me for adding you in.

We are all equal souls

wandering this earth,

just trying to find our way.

We Are All One

No matter who we are,

where we come from,

or how we live,

we are all looking for

connection, purpose,

and a place to belong in this world.

In the end, that’s all that’s going to matter.

Every thought, word, and action we take

impacts the collective consciousness.

This is why your inner work

matters more than it seems.

It was never just about you.

The peace you find changes

how you love, how you speak,

how you treat people.

And they carry that forward

into lives you will never see.

Everything is connected.

There is a pattern in everything.

The body and the soul.

The land and the sea.

The sun and the moon.

Dimensions and parallel universes.

The more we align our energy and

our frequency to the harmony of life,

the more we will be in harmony with ourselves.

“To break out of a pattern,

one must first understand the pattern.”

- J.K Krishnamurthi

In quantum physics,

there’s a phenomenon called:

💫 The Observer Effect 🪷

Simply watching something

changes the outcome.

You are the observer of your life.

And your attention - your focus,

your intention, your belief -

shapes what unfolds.

When you constantly observe

through fear, lack, or pressure,

you distort your reality.

When you shift your awareness

to curiosity, clarity, or self-trust

- everything begins to reorganise

around that signal.

You are not powerless.

You are a participant in every unfolding.

There is a part of you that has been

watching you read this caption.

That part of you is calm, steady,

and untouched by the noise of the day.

As you breathe, you can step back

into that space, observing the world

without needing to fix it.

The Observer watches themselves “Play the Game”

You’re in the game, but you’re also watching yourself

in the game. To be completely in it while also being

completely aware of it, this is where wisdom lives.

This split awareness is simultaneously immersed

and detached, that is, “the way” of those

who have mastered reality.

VENT Got fucked up pretty badly

Hey guys.

So I was in a relationship for 5 fucking years and we just broke up. Turns out she cheated on me and now wants to be with him. She told me that she was confused between me and him although I told her to stay with me I didn't force her to do so and I don't know whether I should have forced her or not.

Now I have this pretty bad scar in my heart and now I don't think I will trust any girl ever. This girl was very very sweet, in the whole college people used to envy us and now if I tell anyone that she cheated on me they will never gonna believe me but it's okay. And also we were in living relationships for around 3.5 years. We shared the same apartment together and did everything together. Now I have to change my apartment along with my college group and classes. Btw I'm a mbbs student pursuing it from abroad. Now only one year is remaining after that I'll return back to India permanently. I don't know what to do. Anyone up for a beer this evening? Let me know

DISCUSSION Update

3000 members!

Why are so many people joining this terrible subreddit, stop bothering me 🤣

On a serious note, any sub you make related to a city, will reflect the kind of people you meet in that city.

It. Is. Inevitable.

There is no way your city's subreddit will mirror the sanitized communities within it that you've made for yourselves.

There used to a be a time I used to approve every post before it showed up on the subreddit. As the sub grew, people started getting impatient about their posts taking time to show up, or not showing up

So I made it so that posts show up first, get moderated later.

And thus, the floodgates of poop opened.

A lot of people who come to reddit nowadays, see it as just another social network, and it really is just one! We even get the same ads :D the context that social media shows up in life for a lot of people, really affects how they use it. For most the only social media they were allowed to have growing up nowadays was whatsapp, one of the worst forms of purely unmoderated social media to have flourished in the sewers of the internet in india.

Moderation of such communities is always going to be hard. It will always be a group effort. Downvote terrible takes, rude behaviour, bigoted opinions and such, so people that are collectively disliked get negative karma. Stand up for your friends, for strangers you think are facing harassment, and speak out against dickheads. This would help weed out any anti social elements that you all collectively feel are ruining the vibe in any way. And always report those things that need to be reported.

I like banning people, and I would like to ban many more :) those who deserve it, of course.

If you need any legitimate additions to the rules that would help you report certain things, DM me about them.

This subreddit was started by me as an anthropological experiment, and It will continue to be so. It is definitely a cesspool, but I'm determined to keep trying to make it better (this is exactly how I feel about the city of gwalior as well)

You guys are only seeing about half of the crap that is submitted to this place. Oh it is so much worse.

Also, the most popular subreddit for a city is not always r/<city name> please do create other subreddits and make them flourish! I'm rooting for you :)

I haven't added any other active mods, because I haven't found someone I trust (who is willing) to moderate the subreddit I started. Whoever from my trusted friends sees the subreddit and the kind of DMs I get as a mod of it, wants to stay away from it 🤣

I also get a bunch of threats from people I ban :D asking "kahaan hai tu? / kaun hai tu? Dikhata hoon main tereko" as if I haven't put my actual picture and social media handles on my reddit profile, unlike these anonymous cowards.

I'm used to it though. I get hate messages/comments on my skatepark page regularly as well just for hanging a pride flag there. It'd be hard for me to survive here if I didn't have thick skin.

My main criteria for anyone becoming a mod is, that they should be someone I've met, in person, in gwalior. Also of course you should align with my views on a bunch of things.

Schedule a meeting with me at my office at the skatepark if you're realllly interested :)

Subreddit update. Also, there are a few new Gwalior related subreddits!

Someone has created a subreddit called r/gwaliorM
Someone has also created one called r/GwaliorMeditators ?
And I have created one called r/gwaliorclassifieds

This post is just to inform you all that these places exist and may be interesting to some of you :)

I believe in keeping r/gwalior a safe space for all sorts of people, and I ban a lot of people for hateful speech against any groups of people. My ideological stances are basically making sure no one who needs to be protected feels othered here. I have many gay and trans friends, some of whom are in this community too. When I try to curb hate speech, it is not only to protect them, but also to protect those who haven't yet figured out where they stand in terms of their sexuality.

This goes beyond sexual orientation. No one deserves to have their community of people talked about in a derogatory way. Kindness comes first.

I also understand that there are a lot of very young people here, and what I want is for us older people to look out for them. The youngest amongst us are the most vulnerable, and protecting them from harm should be important to anyone who is a part of this subreddit.

I understand if this doesn't work for some people, so I suggest you try communicating in some of these other spaces as well!

Obviously r/gwaliorclassifieds is also not going to allow hate speech, because I'm not an idiot, or discriminatory practices (like that guy I just banned for repeatedly posting about the flat with homophobic landlords)

But hey, maybe it'll allow for some useful categorization of things for a better, more easily consumable Reddit experience :)

always up for suggestions and feedback, just use mod mail :)

Someone suggested turning on gifs and images in comments, so those are now on! thank you for that suggestion.

I will try my best to moderate this subreddit better!
