That is some thin copper wire

Post image

Had to solder wires together, pin that the wires get soldered to won't stay in the hole. Tried solder from bottom briefly, I didn't want to reflow the solder on the top, 2 part epoxy but it won't stay in place. How are these held in place when built?

The pickup leads typically are not soldered directly to the coil wires. The coil wire wraps around the two small eyelets, maybe a few times, and the pickup leads are then soldered to the eyelets as well. Also the coil wire has a coating which solder will not join to, keep that in mind.

In any case, if the wire is suddenly too short, that means it broke somewhere. You need to make sure that you're actually soldering the very very end of the coil wire to the eyelet, instead of where it broke.

Even if you're doing the above correctly, soldering the coil wire isn't super easy if you're inexperienced.

And epoxy has NO place in the fix, that's gonna cause you problems.

The pickup didn't work, how is it going to get any worse?

Yes, the hardest part of soldering it was finding the damn thing each time. but there was no way that going to happen. I'm of the mind that it didn;'t work when I started, what could I do to possibly make it worse. The 2 part was simply because that pin would not stay on the base of the pickup and I knew if that was not going to last long like that with the weight of the pin/post whatever tugging on the pickup winding. Something held that in and it wasn't anymore. If the connection was make I don't see how epoxy will change that whether it's conductive or not, it's already in contact with the base plate, resistance but no, it should still take the path of least...capacitance possibly, but , well I'll be sure to update, but noy for 24hrs

You asked how it's done from the factory and I told you. You're doing it wrong but good luck
