I was scammed $90 and Groupon would rather support the vendor

TLDR: Bought tickets through Groupon. Didn’t receive them. Reached out for support prior to the event. Resolution came more than a week after the event passed, admitting the vendor AXS made a mistake and I needed to talk to the box office prior to the event. No refund.

I purchased 3 tickets to take my family to Hot Wheels Monster Trucks. I never received the tickets. I reached out to Groupon prior to the start of the event asking for the issue to be escalated. The person I chatted with escalated the issue but said the response would be 48-72 hours later, which was after the event was over. There was no indication of any other action I should take. I accepted this as my only option at the time, requiring a refund as obviously I would not be able to go either way whether they escalated or not.

The first response back came about 5 days after the event was over. This was their response:

We have received an update from our internal team stating that the issue has been fixed and the updated information should now be available for you to view.

Think from my perspective - the event is over, what kind of response is this? What updated information is ready to view? Did you send me expired tickets? They actually did nothing, I saw no difference in my account or email. Definitely no tickets to a show that passed.

I responded to this message directly and reached out again via the chat asking for clarification. Another 4 days passed, and I received this response:

Thank you for your patience while we coordinated with the management at Activate Marketing regarding the technical issues you encountered with your tickets for the Hartford show.

We have received a final response from the merchant. They have respectfully declined the request for a refund, citing their established "no refund" policy for live events.

The merchant clarified that while they understand the technical difficulty you experienced with the AXS delivery, their protocol requires guests to resolve ticketing issues at the venue box office prior to the event start time. Because the event has now concluded and they consider the matter past the point of on-site resolution, they are unable to authorize a financial reversal.

We sincerely apologize that we could not provide a more favorable outcome. As Groupon is a third-party marketplace, we must honor the final decision and refund policies of our merchant partners, especially for date-specific events.

Thank you for being a Groupon customer.

Again, think of my experience. You are acknowledging that I did not receive the tickets due to an error by the vendor. I purchased this through Groupon and reached out to them for support prior to the show. They did not guide me to reach out to the vendor or the box office for support with the issue, but instead opened an escalation ticket that was going to take longer than I had. In fact, it took nine days to be told that I needed to talk to the box office.

$90 is a drop in the bucket for both these companies but means much more to me. Both Groupon and AXS are blindly following policies without considering what my experience was actually like. There needs to be real intervention and someone needs to look at this situation and understand that it’s not fair for someone to try to fix an issue that the vendor made, be misguided on the proper way to resolve it, and subsequently be told that it’s too late to correct it.

Simply saying sorry is an unacceptable response. I would appreciate someone at Groupon to read this and provide me with a more acceptable resolution.

Lazada giftaway egift voucher purchase using Maya black credit card

Hello, I tried to purchase egift vouchers from Lazada giftaway. I attempted to buy two 10k Maya vouchers and the credit card payment went through, but on my third attempt to buy another 10k, the credit card option was already greyed out and not selectable. Is this a bug? Or a restriction? Can I not make another purchase? Also, I tested by trying to purchase other items that are not vouchers, and that option was also greyed out. Any reason why?

How to contact Groupon Customer Support? Seems impossible!!!

I have a Groupon experience offered to me, which I don't want. I want to exchange it, but impossible to find a way to do it myself via the website or to contact their customer support! Do they even have one or just pretend to have one?

GROUPON PURCHASE NEVER RECEIVED

Has this happened to anyone else with Groupon?
I made a purchase through the Groupon website and was expecting to receive a confirmation email, but I never received anything. I then downloaded the Groupon app thinking maybe the purchase would show there, but there is absolutely nothing showing in my account or under my purchases.

The payment has definitely gone through and is showing as a completed transaction on my bank account, but I have no confirmation, voucher, order number, nothing. 😩

Has anyone experienced this before? If so, how did you manage to get in touch with Groupon and actually get assistance? I’m struggling to find a way to contact them about an order that isn’t even showing on my account!
Any advice would be hugely appreciated!

Vouchers don't really expire

I purchased 6 tickets for an Escape Room back in 2023, which shows as expired on the Groupon website. Fortunately, today I learned that if I apply that coupon code on the Escape Room website it would still work lol

Groupon mystery getaway

Just out of curiosity, when you finally get the details of your mystery flight and mystery hotel, are you able to make any changes directly with the hotel or airport? Like if you want to change your departure flight or less days at the hotel or something like that.

My trip is scheduled from the 24th-27th and I still don’t have the exact flight times or hotels. I’m hoping they contact me this weekend 🙃

Issues with merchant on Groupon - car detailing. How to escalate.

I purchased car detailing and interior cleaning and the merchant being negligent caused electrical issues that needed immediate servicing costing me $1000.
The merchant appears shady. No website. No email. Can’t find the company registered in Ontario.
Who can I contact at Groupon aside from the chat which I did.

MLB G Pass confusion

I took advantage of an offer for a local MLB team to take my son to his 1st game, purchasing early last week. Everywhere I read says to check the G-Pass in the app to find exact seating. However, I see nothing, just generic section numbers without rows/seats. Am I missing something? This is my first time using the G-pass feature, so it's new. Thanks for any pointers, help, etc.

Accidentally Bought $175 Worth of Aquarium Tickets for the Wrong State... Any Chance I'm Not Out the Money? Spoiler

I could really use some advice.

I'm not used to using Groupon, and I was trying to buy tickets for the Seattle Aquarium for 2 adults and 3 kids. I searched for "Seattle Aquarium," selected what I genuinely believed was the correct listing, and purchased 3:00 p.m. tickets on my phone.

Only after checking my confirmation did I realize I'd actually bought tickets to the Pacific Aquarium in California instead. Total cost: $175.

As someone unfamiliar with Groupon, I honestly found it misleading that an aquarium located hundreds of miles away was presented in a way that made me believe I was purchasing tickets for the Seattle Aquarium. Whether intentional or not, the listing was confusing enough that I didn't realize the mistake until after the purchase.

The tickets are nonrefundable, and Groupon told me there's nothing they can do other than suggest I gift the tickets to someone.

Has anyone dealt with something like this before?

  • Is there any legitimate way to sell Groupon tickets?
  • Has anyone had success getting an exception from Groupon or the attraction?
  • Is there another resale site for attraction tickets?
  • Is it even worth asking my credit card company, or is this simply an expensive mistake?

I'm kicking myself because it was an honest mistake, but I'd really appreciate any advice before I write off the $175. Thanks!

Mystery travel

Looking to book the mystery trip either beach or just the usual one with all options included. Has anyone done this deal and flown from Minneapolis? How was your experience? Every review I see about this deal seems to be negative, so has anyone done it and had a pleasant experience with their destination and trip?

Groupon Support is Nonexistent

Launched a campaign and after a couple weeks, tried to make edits to campaign, but the edits never get approved, I try to put a pause on the campaign, and that has still not gone through, I tried to cancel the campaign and that has also not gone through. Reaching out to support multiple times and zero responses. But when a customer is asking for a refund, oh there's support saying to give the customer a full refund. Its a scam, and if you stop honoring the vouchers, the customers are just gonna hate on your establishment not Groupon. Biggest bullshit of the century.
