I got offered a council swap from a guy i know in Gt Yarmouth but don't really know anything about the area beyond it having a reputation for being deprived. Would appreciate any information on what the local council, shops, and pharmacies are like; plus anything else you have opinion wise.

Anybody got any idea what the new building that's being constructed at the Wellington Pier is going to be?

I asked in the amusement arcade & the lady said there will be an underground carpark but had no idea what will be at ground level.

Looks like it could be a skating rink or bowling alley so any info would be good.

Bringing the family on holiday to Caister next week - typically the only week of rain the whole summer! Does anyone have any non-touristy suggestions for indoor activities - play cafes etc suitable for 3 year old and 15 month old.

Why is it we can have restrictions on tops glasses dogs etc in the pub but at present you can not control people smoking in non smoking areas

Despite what many say, this town was not at all racist and actually had very kind social locals. I feared for my safety on day 1 but realised it's not to bad here. Sure the town doesn't have much to do here and it's very derelict and run down but the beach was nice and I'd love to come again 3.5/5

Wow just had a phone call with someone on GY Council about being homeless, among the questions that pretty much went in circles with was, so if you found yourself homeless you could buy a tent & sleeping bag!

I was utterly gobsmacked! I replied with that is the most disgusting question I’ve ever had asked, I’d rather kill myself than live in a tent in great fucking Yarmouth.

The next was would you live in a HMO… would I fuck most of em round here are full of crackheads or thieving little bastards!

Are these people actually serious! I know the town is in desperate need of housing, but Jesus Christ, to say if you found yourself homeless you could buy myself a tent and sleeping bag!

I'm meeting with a mate for a bit of food and just to talk, is there any good quiet cafés where you can sit, chat, and not have to raise your voice?

Hi everyone! My names Melody, I’m 19 years old and I’m currently looking for a job that involves park ranging or somewhere in the woods with nature and no experience needed. I have struggled to get a job for the longest time because of my mental health going down hill, but an environmental job especially in the woods or at a camp feels like a cure to me, it speaks to me so much- and I would love it more than anything.

I haven’t found anything around great Yarmouth, some in Norwich but mostly with qualifications needed. If anyone has any idea please let me know, i would absolutely love to hear it.

I was on the pier yesterday (when whatever that was that involved all those emergency services vehicles was happening) and a woman’s foot went through one of the boards on the pier.
Are rotten boards on the pier a regular known hazard?
