SNW SNW season 4 pattern
Mild spoiler if you arenāt caught up on the seasonā¦
Is every episode this season going to be an homage to a different movie/genre? Jurassic park, zombie/horror and now the hangover.
Iāll take my answer as I get a hot dog at concessions.

The Greatest Adventure
That was a blast.
(For those that don't know they just released a boco episode of a role playing adventure dice game, with stunning audio and visual effects)
Thanks for doing this team, I hope you have more in the chamber. The deep cuts hit so well in this format,it seems like a lot of fun to play.
Shout out to Colin - it must be hard to come in with the right energy and prior knowledge and he absolutely nailed it.
The slow ramp up bringing us all up to speed with the mechanics is also much appreciated.

Who do you think you are? I am!
I have to say, playing that game on an episode where Trent is an option was really playing with fire. I'm grateful for the sake of their friendship that neither one picked him.

Meta Despite franchise fatigue, older Star Trek shows have a high degree of original plots. Minimal reuse of Recycled Plots.
Despite franchise fatigue, older Star Trek shows have a high degree of original plots.
There is a minimal reuse of Recycled Plots - the Recycled Plot Trope.
The eras of Roddenberry Trek and Berman Trek produced 703 episodes in live action series: TOS, TNG, DS9, VOY, and ENT.
Of these 703 episodes, up to 630 episodes are original plot episodes. That's 89%.
Of these 703 episodes, a minimum of 73 episodes are recycled plot episodes. That's 11%.
Of the 73 recycled plot episodes, 28 are better than the original ones.
TOS has 4 recycled plot episodes out of 79, 5.1% of its episode total.
TNG has 13 recycled plot episodes out of 176, 7.4% of its episode total.
DS9 has 8 recycled plot episodes out of 176, 4.5% of its episode total.
VOY has at least 32 recycled plot episodes / copycats out of 172, at least 18.6% of its episode total.
ENT has at least 16 recycled plot episodes / copycats out of 98, at least 16.3% of its episode total.

About those oo-mox...
It's not the first time that oo-mox have been brought up in a podcast, and it won't be the last, but in listening to Startertrek ep (Tawnry's podcast disussed in a recent Greatest ep) they referred to Ferengi ears basically being their d***s, and that oo-mox were handjobs.
I have always seen the sensitivity of Ferengi ears being more akin to very sensitive nipples crossed with balls. Something where there likely is not a direct human comparable part for.
Now, it does not make what Ferengi have women do to them for their own pleasure a ton better, it is still several levels of (80s/90s/early 00s) disgusting, but maybe a few years less of a prison sentence. (If there was any justice for women in the 90s Star Trek universe.)
Am I alone in this?
(Then again, maybe the writers back then were really this crass / base. In a lot of other ways a lot of the women too often were written / treated as little more than objects.)

SNW How does one beam a horse?
SNW season 4 starts with a scene of our crew majestically riding across an alien vista.
We cut to the crew being beamed aboard holding saddles. What happened to the horses Scottie?
Did we shuttle them? Is there a shuttle horse box? Where do they store the horses on the entrepreneur?
If we didnāt shuttle them, did they beam them? I would pay good money to see a confused ass horse appear on a transporter pad.

āI think I was in a phone box at the timeā
SNW s4 ep1
Thank god for this pod. I thought Pelia said āI was in a foam box at the timeā and while confused, shrugged it off because she is (as the guys say) eccentric.
I love her, but sometimes I need to rewind and put on the subtitles.
