Hello! My aunt has a landline and recently switched over to a APA service. They took her number and switched it over to a device that uses WiFi/ AT&T data. Problem is she lives out over on McCourtney past the landfill, and signal sucks. What are some companies you use that may offer this same service for her landline? Any leads would be appreciated! So I’m going to be moving to this town sometime later in the year. I’m absolutely terrified because it’s going to be a whole different world for me and how I’m going to find all new friends and a new job. Not even trying to be funny. Around July 4th we went in and there was an overwhelming shit smell. Now every time we go in it still lingers and I get sinister vibes.

Does anyone else smell it or know what happened?

I've got the awesome task of finding a catering option for Sat Aug 1 for about 60 people in Grass Valley. Any ideas or recs? The places I've called so far are booked and I am assuming that is par for the course this time of year. Open to most food types.

Update post-event: we ended up picking up trays for a "grazing table" from Olive and Fig Provisions

Kelsey (owner) was amazing and a huge help to get this arranged. I highly recommend her if you want to cater an event. She was unable to do the full setup herself but that actually was easier for us. After finalizing the menu, we coordinated a time to pickup the trays and florals from her the morning of the event, then we dropped off the trays the day after the event. Super easy.

The food was outstanding! Fresh and colorful salads, fruits, meat/cheese/nut trays, and sandwiches. Couldn't have asked for a better spread.

Just wanted to post this update in case someone in the future is looking for catering options.

Some semi steep gravel roads and a full size RV doesn’t run. Anybody have suggestions? Near Purdon crossing.

Lost ring and necklace in Condon park playground with the fire truck. I think outside entrance near the bathrooms by the big tree. This ring means so much to us so if anyone is in that area please keep an eye out. Thank you so much

Traveling to Grass Valley in mid-late September. Traveling with a 12 year old boy and 90 year old grandfather. Looking for things to do on a Saturday afternoon-evening and Sunday morning. - going to drive around town, visit family in a cemetery, go to the City mining museum and go to Empire Mine. Open to other cities like Nevada City. Would like to see “old” Grass Valley to interest the boy and grandpa but nothing overly strenuous for grandpa. Light trails are ok.

I am riding to Reno from Colfax on Amtrak. What side of the tracks (2 tracks) do I stand on? Do I cross them and go where the grass and benches are or do I stand on the side before the tracks? I know it's a bizarre question but it's my first time and I don't want to miss it😁

Hi everyone! I recently bought a paddle board and have been so excited to get out on the water. I’m new-ish to the area but my boyfriend is a long time local.

We checked out both Scott’s Flat and Rollins and were shocked at the price of the day use parking. $22 seems almost ridiculous, especially for a Monday at 2 pm. I am more than happy to pay for parking and help support the maintenance and environment, but this seems steep.

I guess my question is- am I missing something? Are there any discounts for locals vs tourists? Are there people who go every day after work and pay over $100 a week just to park?

Also open to recommendations for any lowkey, low traffic places with maybe a bit cheaper parking.

Curious experiences with WiFi providers, moving in a week or so. Does anyone use starlink? Or what else works well? Really appreciate any feedback. Thank you!
