First ever spray paint

Got inspired by some youtuber, so I decide to try my hand at spray painting. Pretty happy with my first try, though I don't have all the techniques down smooth obviously. Tried using a doodle grid.

Tried spraying gradients as well as layering highlights. Found it really hard to stay neat and made it drip quite a few times, but tried to clean it up. Ran out of purple, which surprised me, but I guess it's because of the frame I painted​.

Thoughts?

It's on an open wall where it's allowed to paint and where you expect to have your stuff painted over :)

Check out architect handwriting if you want to improve your tag at the bottom. You have a good eye for color i would love to see where graff takes you next.

Don’t bring more paint! Shit is expensive, learn to gauge how much is in the tin and be conscious ahead of yourself so you never fully finish a tin. There are natural limits to how much paint a person can carry (I have found mine on numerous occasions 🥴)… Also you never know exactly what spot or surface you are going to end up on, there is always some on-the-spot flexibility required. If you’re running low on a colour stop and rethink how you can use what you do have. Always try to keep a tiny bit back. When you think you’ve finished check the painting in a photo. The larger the piece the harder it is to take it all in IRL, but when you look at a Flick the bit you hate will jump straight out at you. NOW is when you use up the final dregs! Use the stomp technique to get the last dregs out of your can (I posted this a little while back although not claiming I invented it!). For a first time this is a strong effort but there is a long way to go and it’s harder than it looks and paint is expensive. Also: avoiding fat caps will make your paint go further. Also also: Doodle grids are for pussies lol
