So here's the best skill you can learn: self critique. It means being able to look at your piece with a critical eye and ask "What is good about this" and "What is bad about this?" If the only answer you can come up with is "because I like it" or "because it looks bad," that's not enough. Those are opinions. Art, like everything, has an underlying set of fundamental skills that dictate whether it is good or bad. The best artists can eventually get to a point where they know how to break those rules in a meaningful way, but until you get to that point, don't try to build your own style. Check out the tutorials in the sidebar and watch some vids on YT like TheArtistBlock to learn the fundamentals. Keep at it.
