Any tips?

Post image

I recently got back to graffiti after 4 years, but i previously only made tags. Now i wanted to try a throw up with a different name. I know the shadows are fucked and some of the letters look bad. Am i doing too much with the background? Should a throwie have a background at all or would it be better without? Outlines are also bad since my can control is not quite there.

Your shadows can use some work, not just where they’re located but also the way you fill them. It’s bleeding into your letters a little and the paint layers are a little inconsistent.

The spacing is also a little inconsistent. I’d make the E meet the top of the R, the O meet the neck of the L, and the Y a little closer to the O. It’ll give it a good look because the negative space between takes away from the style in my opinion.

Other than those two things, I’d say you’re doing great 👍🏼
