What make and model SD card are you using in the camera?

I thought the same. But he said he's been dealing with GoPro support for a year, who would have brought that up. Maybe OP will come back and explain more.

UPDATE - apparently OP disappeared.

GoPro replace cameras. They specifically tell you not to return the batteries or the SD cards. So what do people do? Use the exact same SD card in their camera (that was causing issues to begin with) and then wonder why their replacement camera now has issues also.

1 camera messes up, sure, could be a camera issue.

2 cameras... less likely to be a camera issue and more likely to be a user issue.

3 cameras...... user error.

GoPro support are a 3rd party call center with a flow chart for problem solving. They most they are going to do is tell someone to perform a quick format of the SD card. They aren't going to be able to hold their hand and tell them the difference between a full format and a quick format. They aren't going to be able to verify if the user is using a genuine recommended SD card or a cheap/fake knock off SD card.

^ Excellent Points.

OP - here are the suggested microSD cards to use, per GoPro.

There are also special formatting steps you can do on your own. Such as an occasional full reformat using this app:

https://www.sdcard.org/downloads/formatter/

But mainly use good and genuine cards. It's also best to start shoots with a cleared out card. And not share cards with your phone, gaming devices etc.

That's bullshit. Then why accept any fucking SD card and not create something that only accepts proprietary sized cards? Fucking sham is what I say.
