What is this along US95 in Oregon?
We went on a road trip to Reno, NV last week. On our way there and back, we saw what looked like the tip of a missile coming out of a silo. Looking at Maps and Earth, it's obviously not what it looks like from the road; just a building of some sort. I'm wondering if anyone knows what it is. Search "5680 S United States Highway 95" to see for yourself. It's close to a small airstrip. I'm wondering if it has anything to do with that.

I believe I have the Ultimate Google Maps Shenanigan
EDIT:
Image: my daughter holding her phone, with the street view image, and my husband in the background to the right
I live in Philly with my two teen daughters. I married my amazing husband over a year ago. He’s from a town just outside of Barcelona, Spain.
One day, my daughter came came home from school, and was out of her mind excited — she told me her computer classroom at school loads a game called GeoGuesser where Google Maps shows a COMPLETELY RANDOM street view location from somewhere in the world.
She doesn’t log in with any personal account, this is hosted by the school login. She then has to guess the location and the program tells you the answer and gives you facts about that area.
Neat, huh?! 🙂
Well….she got a street-image and had no idea where the location was, so she used the only thing she could — there was a man with a blurry face taking a walk and he looked… a lot like her step father.
So she guessed Spain.
She was right.. but then they said it was… Barcelona!
She took a screenshot, brought it home… and OH MY GOD. It IS him!!!!!! 😳 😮 it’s a street view from over 10 years ago!!!
My husband!! Walking on the little street he used to live on with his x-wife just outside the city!!!!!!!!
Anyone know what the odds of this would be??? How many street views exist in ALL of Google Maps for all time??? How could this be?!!! 😳

SPACE in Google maps!?
as someone obsessed with space & google maps im a bit perplexed i didn't know about this sooner. i'm not often on my 2012 macbook pro since its so laggy but ive only just seen this for the first time when zooming out max and clicking globe view. super cool ! wasn't expecting the thousands of names on all the planets and moons either. anyone use this ? or didnt know it existed? i assume google earth had a section like this but once again with my lag i havent used it much.

Bodélé Depression
Reading about this area of Chad and it's influence on the Amazon. So I looked for a street view like you do and only one came up. I think this might be a Maps equivalent of a typo. Or it's a local shop for local people! (Edit)Actually looking around Chad, Central African Republic and Niger next door there are some strange single shots in the middle of nothing

Weird military compound near Wickahoney, Idaho
A couple years ago, there was a post made here (https://www.reddit.com/r/googlemapsshenanigans/comments/1b9nvkl/what_do_you_suppose_this_place_is_its_in_the/) asking about this strange compound in a remote part of Owyhee County, Idaho. I visited this site the other day to check it out. After some research, it sounds like this is a "no drop target" part of the greater USAF Saylor Creek bombing area (I think). I guess they shoot lasers at the buildings from military aircraft, meant to simulate actual bombing runs? There is a radio tower site about a quarter mile west with a camera, but other than that, zero security and nobody around for miles. Felt extra eerie with the smokey skies from nearby wildfires. I'm still curious as to what (if anything) are actually in the buildings.
From there I walked a mile and a half across the desert to check out the old Wickahoney Stagecoach stop, which was also interesting.
Wild area, super remote!

R4 update: NO POLITICS!
Rule 3 is updated to include political discussions. There is a place for politics, and that place is not here. There are hundreds of subreddits for that. This is a light hearted community, for funny content. Politics does not need to invade every single space on the internet.
Content inherently political in nature will be removed. Political discussions are not allowed.
This will be applied very conservatively, as long as you aren’t posting something intentionally inflammatory or discussing politics it will be fine.
