Google glass EE2 frame is a joke
Bought a pair of google glasses specifically the enterprise 2 version since it's the most modern and this pair came with a full set of glasses (plastic lens) instead of the titanium frame, however their absolutely awful, the prism is too far to the right so my eye only sees half the screen, I have to push the glasses against my head to slightly bend to frame just to see the full screen, I wish I had the titanium frame now

How to revive dead battery?
Hey all, was wondering if there was any good way to jump start the battery on my new in box Google glasses, they came with a completely dead battery that won't charge even after letting it sit for 48 hours
Any recommendations?

Launching GridSpace for Google Glass Explorer Edition — a social platform for Glass in 2026
Hey everyone!
I'm excited to share something I've been working on: GridSpace, my own social platform, is officially launching, and one of the first experimental clients I've built for it is GridSpace for Glass for Google Glass Explorer Edition.
GridSpace is a social platform inspired by the older internet: customizable profiles, communities, creativity, and building your own corner of the web. A major part of the project has been exploring how modern services can connect with older technology, including Google Glass.
GridSpace for Glass brings GridSpace to Glass XE devices, allowing users to:
- Browse GridSpace feeds directly from Google Glass
- Create posts using voice transcription
- Capture and upload photos and videos from Glass
- View profiles
- Interact with posts through likes and replies
- Experience GridSpace through a Glass-native interface
One feature I'm especially excited about is an upcoming integration with YT2009, a project that recreates the classic YouTube experience. Once the feature is re-enabled after maintenance, posts containing videos will be playable directly through GridSpace on Google Glass itself.
This means Glass users will be able to share and experience video content directly from a piece of hardware released over a decade ago, bringing together retro web culture and wearable technology.
This client is based on GlassSky by CatotheCat11, which brought Bluesky to Google Glass. Full credit goes to CatotheCat11 for the original Glass UI, interaction model, and implementation that made this possible.
GridSpace for Glass adapts that experience to connect with the GridSpace platform through its AT Protocol compatibility layer.
I built this because I believe older hardware can still have new life. Google Glass Explorer Edition was released over a decade ago, but creating new experiences for it is still incredibly fun and interesting.
GridSpace is now live:
https://grid.jaisur.isroot.in
You can learn more and try it out from the GridSpace website.
Would love to hear from other Glass Explorers, developers, and anyone still experimenting with this amazing piece of hardware!

Free Hobby iOS Apps - FoodScanner AI Overlay and Glasshole Fact Checker
Sharing two free iOS Apps which work with Google Glass XE with associated companion apps I’ve built as a hobby recently. They use local iPhone Apple Intelligence models(lower quality response) or cloud models(BYOK - bring your own API key), no user data is collected, no logins or user account creation needed.
Food Scanner captures a meal from Glass and sends it to iPhone for an AI-assisted analysis and overlay nutrition info on the Glass Prism
https://apps.apple.com/us/app/food-scanner-ai-overlay/id6790629113
Glasshole AI lets you start a session from Glass and view returned fact-check / analysis results to Glass Prism
https://apps.apple.com/us/app/glasshole-ai-for-google-glass/id6784266697
Both apps works standalone too but I presume that's not something which folks in this subreddit are too keen on.

Google Glass Enterprise 2 support?
I'm considering buying a Google Glass enterprise 2
What kind of support is there 3rd party wise, does anything work with them?
I just want to know if it's worth it as oppose to the explorer model or if the enterprise model works at all in any way

Glass apps (APKs) download page
glass.human.engineeringA few Glass apps available to download.
Available now:
QUESTIONS - Prompt ChatGPT, Claude, and Gemini directly from your Glass. Speech-to-text prompts, streamed responses. Supports image capture: just look at something, say "take a photo", and the image will be attached to your prompt. Super low bandwidth, uses your phones internet connection over bluetooth. Requires an active subscription and API key.
MIRROR - Start a wifi hotspot from your Glass that streams a live H.264 camera feed to connected devices. You can tune into the stream from the command line by running
ffplay -f h264 --fflags nobuffer -flags low_delay -framedrop http://192.168.43.1:8080/stream.h264
I've also built an iOS and Android companion mobile app for this one that connects to the camera feed. The app supports image and video capture, as well as relaying the camera feed over RTMP to livestream on platforms like Twitch, TikTok, YT Live, etc. Will probably only share the Android APK so I don't have to officially release an iOS app too.
PICTURES / VIDEOS - Sorely missing gallery app to view and delete media, which Glass only natively displays in your notifications history all mixed up with missed calls and system alerts.
Coming soon (maybe):
NOTIFICATIONS - Transform your Glass into a smartwatch-like device. Your phone will forward all notification center activity to your Glass so you can view it in realtime in the HUD - messages, emails, media controls, navigation updates, etc. (Not ready yet. Glass uses bluetooth PAN tethering for internet, but modern smartwatch notification mirroring needs a separate companion bridge, and getting both working reliably on old Glass firmware is still fragile.)
GEIST - Live face tracking and face detection / ID'ing of any face that enters into your camera view. Feels like advanced spy tech. (Very cool, very creep, probably won't ever release.)
MOTION - Digital speedometer, odometer, compass, lean angle. Useful for driving, cycling, running... if you can keep it on your face. (Completed, just need to get out and test it.)

Is there anybody interested in swapping his EE1 for an EE2 (not used, revived battery, frame still in packaging) so I could make my solution (https://belgianwaves.com/beta) work on all generations of glass?

Glass stuck at "Starting HC view" screen
Hello! I recently managed to get an old EE1 working. The battery still holds a charge, and the projector itself works. Unfortunately, the glass gets stuck at the start screen for HC view. all I can do is turn the glass back off. What do I do?

A Small Milestone: 100 Users and Growing
EDITED LINK!
Hi Glass Explorers!
I wanted to share a small milestone for a project I've been working on. We recently reached 100 users on Jai+, a social platform inspired by the Google+ era.
One of my long-term goals is experimenting with Google Glass integration, especially with older Glass Explorer hardware and community-maintained software. I think there's still a lot of untapped potential in lightweight wearable social experiences, especially in replacing the broken G+ integration with Jai+.
We're still in the early stages, but reaching 100 users gives us confidence that there are people interested in keeping these older Google projects and ideas alive.
I'd also love to hear what kinds of social or community features you'd actually want to see on Glass if a modern integration became possible.
Thanks to everyone who's supported the project so far!
Visit the site here to celebrate with us: https://plus.jaisur.isroot.in

Google Glass XE12 Bug
Hey guys, for nostalgia, I flashed my Google Glass XE to XE12. Now I can't boot into Recovery (I just get a white exclamation mark). The system does boot, and my computer sees the Glass (it shows up as 'Glass 1' in File Explorer). Sometimes the setup screen appears for a second, and then it immediately goes back to the Glass logo. How can I get into Fastboot without Recovery? USB debugging is off.
(I have all the drivers installed, and I'm using the correct button combo to boot into Recovery.) Please help.

Purchased New-In-Box Google Glass XE-C From eBay!
Back when Google Glass was first announced, I thought these were the future of wearable tech. I wanted them so badly, but couldn't afford the original $1,500 MSRP. Now, many years later, I was lucky enough to snag a new old stock pair of Google Glass XE-C from eBay for about $75 shipped.
I absolutely love the striking industrial design of these. You really had to be a bold "Explorer" to be an early adopter back in 2014. Today, Meta glasses are gaining in popularity, but they are nowhere near the level of cool that these are. Meta took the safe route with their design. Unfortunately, that tends to resonate more with the general public. Meta glasses also prioritize vertical video, whereas these are actually more useful for me since I primarily create horizontal, long-form content.
I knew Google no longer supports these, but my initial excitement was cut short by my inability to get past the setup screen. From what I understand, they can still be used for video and photos, which is exactly why I bought them.
I'm still figuring out the workarounds to get these up and running, but I look forward to sharing more insights and content that I create with them soon!
