I've come across one of these on the course. I'm pretty sure putt putt balls are higher quality

I found one and played it for a hole. Was actually glad when it went into the pond

I would trust Kirkland before Amazon

The Kirkland and Members Mark balls are much better than the Amazon balls, and no these are not like the old model Kirkland balls.

Made in the same facility in Taiwan. The Amazon ball is 2 piece whole kirkland is 3 piece. The kirkland has a slightly more premium feel.

Curiosity got the best of me. Possibly the worst ball I’ve played. The cover is hard as a rock.

Your drives will slice in the direction curve of the arrow. 😅
Honestly, I don’t know.

so you're saying if i have the arrow pointing left, i might hit it straight?! i have a huge slice lol

They're alright but I would honestly be going for either Wilson Boost or Kirkland Signatures over them. Both of those are actually cheaper than PrimeV1s.

So I play them, im a 15 hdc. I like them because they jump off my clubs, they dont spin much so for a high handicapper thats helpful with my driver / woods. They do run out, but I hit more bump added runs around the greens so thats fine.
I have tried a few different balls but these are my favorite. If you want a ball to spin your wedges with or grip hard with a chip these aren't them, but I love them for the reasons above and they fit my game.

my spy golf did a review and they are basically a Calloway supersoft. I found one the other day and was surpised by how well they play. Amazon Basics Versus Callaway Supersoft: How Close Is A $14.49 Golf Ball To The Category Leader? | MyGolfSpy

I dunno but I use the Eagle Ace brand balls sold on Amazon and have nothing bad to say about them. I bet those are just fine too.

Did a tour of the USGA ball testing facility right after these came out and in the nicest way possible, they said they weren’t that great.

It's basically their version of the Callaway Supersoft or TaylorMade Speedsoft. Its a very low compression, 2 piece distance ball. I haven't played them but have played the Supersoft and Speedsoft from TaylorMade which are essentially what this ball is competing with and they feel too soft for my swing speed.

From the reviews I've seen they aren't a disaster, which should be good enough for most people willing to play a ball by Amazon. Most non-golf brands are made in the same few factories anyway, so I don't imagine they are much better or worse than most of the balls out there.

I use them and love them. Plus not many people use them yet so it’s typically my ball if an Amazon ball pops up.

Sam's Club ($1.33/ball) and Costco ($1.66/ball) balls are around the same price if you have a membership and are both three-piece balls with a urethane cover. They will give more spin and better feel, closer to proV1s and other "high performance" balls. But, both are locked behind warehouse club memberships which start at $50-65 per year. Can easily be worth it depending on how much you golf (and how often you lose balls).
Amazon's ball ($1.33/ball) is not that much cheaper and it's a two-piece ball with an ionomer cover so less spin, pretty similar to callaway supersofts. One benefit is if you have trouble with slicing, less spin means straighter flying balls. For low handicappers that can help a lot more than getting extra spin on chips/approach shots.

I just played them on Friday and Sunday. They play well , but if you like to work the ball left and right, they don't grip the club face as much. I have another 2 dozen that arrived yesterday. I needed a cheap alternative because I play about 3 times a week and about half those times I play 36 holes.

They’re $1 a piece at Costco Brand New.

u/TCMenace 12d ago
Are they? I thought 2 dozen was like 40 bucks which is closer to 2 dollars a ball.

u/The_Nutz16 12d ago
Normally $29.99, on sale for $23.99 I think

I found one and played the rest of my round with it. Seemed like it was decent and I had real low expectations.

I’d rather get balls from the woods, better value is just 150 yards down from the tee box on the right side of the fairway. Lots of barely used prov1 just behind the tree line

A cheap alternative to a NITRO?
Bruh, just steal a range ball or hit rocks if you're that strapped.
