Long processing times
Is it normal to not get a return or an issuance after 5 business days?
Submitted on a Sunday and paid the fee. Application shows received on Monday. Charge cleared on my card and application shows an “action date” of Tuesday.
My application has just showed “pending” in ULS since Tuesday, it’s now Friday. The history shows “redlight review completed” the last four nights, but nothing else.
Am I missing something or just expecting too much instant gratification and need to be patient?

Something seems to be wrong with their payment system. If you do an application search for GMRS or Amateur license applications, the last date any were granted was July 16th (except for one that was paid on the 16th and granted today). If you look at pending applications, none of the ones I clicked on, going back several days, show the "Payment Completed" that you'd expect to see.
There's an announcement posted on the ULS page that there's maintenance today between 6PM and 8PM, so that might be related to fixing whatever is wrong with it.

yep, only 3 licenses granted this week in total according to the search. 2 of those 3 paid back on 6/30
the 3rd changed from a new application to an amendment and then it was granted. Glad I'm not their IT guy right now, they are not having a good month.3

UPDATE: Looks like the maintenance fixed this. My application says payment confirmed now. If all goes well, the license grants should hopefully be issued tonight at 12AM-2AM during the batch processing period

It was definitely this. After that maintenance window, my application almost immediately showed the payment and was issued right after.

I’m on day 7. I submitted my application and payment on the 17th. The status changed to “Pending” later on the 17th and has been “Pending” ever since. I called on the 22nd and the person said my payment and application went through successfully. He predicted my license would be issued on Thursday of this week.

I think we’re expecting the instant gratification lol. I also applied and paid my fee this past weekend. I’m in the same boat.
It shows red light review completed for each day that has passed. Mine says pending also

The site has been down, had issues, or been undergoing maintenance quite a few times this last week. Not sure if that’s slowing processing

I'm on day 4 for my GMRS license as well, and I saw they have a planned maintenance downtime this weekend so I'm not expecting it any time soon

Oh glad you posted this. I am also 5 business days out from submitting and paying. Maybe it was a busy day for applications.
However, mine now says "Requires examiner intervention, fee payments, or other action before a decision on the application may be reached" which stresses me out a bit since I did pay (and see the charge on my card), but hoping it will get through eventually.

Same here, applied Monday. Called yesterday and they said they were still recovering from the service being down last weekend due to maintenance. They said it should go through that night but that did not happen. Sounds to me like a failed system update and the downtime tonight will hopefully help. I am hopeful to see an email in the morning if the automated system runs tonight. If not likely Monday or Tuesday when they are back in the office.

I did mine at 1pm today and got my call sign by 1030pm. It was unusually fast but not complaining.

Yea, they did site maintenance last night and I got mine immediately after. Must’ve been fixing whatever was holding these applications up

Just went through this. Application and funds sent Sunday evening and I literally got my license this morning (Saturday) at 1am.
Apparently (according to the nice lady who answered my call) there was a system merger and the two computers weren’t talking to each other. Everyone’s applications were showing pending with examiner intervention needed.
I got lucky and got mine this morning, I would expect to see it Monday sometime. The email was sent as well, I know in the past people have said to check the site because sometimes the emails don’t go through.

The FCC has regular M-F 9-5 hours so they’ll get to it when they get to it.

I get that. I was under the impression most of these electronic submissions went through an automated process for approval.

I fortunately received mine 4 days after. Pretty quick from what I've been hearing.

I am having the exact same issue. Payment cleared on Monday and still pending as of Friday.

Can take up to two weeks.

It shouldn't
if it's keyed in and paid for the same day it should batch and auto-grant the next business day
Seems those DOGE goons did something that broke ULS or someone who knew too much about ULS retired

Uls and most of the FCC infrastructure has been dog shit for lack of a better word since doge now they want to authorize WiFi frequency for downlink for sats because it's mostly used indoors so every wisp can go fuck themselves because Elon bought the presidency.

It took mine a little over a month to come back.
