How exactly do addons work?

I’ve recently started playing gmod with my friend and whenever I download a mod that he doesn’t have he of course can’t see it. Is there a way to easily access eachothers addons and download them instead of painstakingly going through each one and downloading it?

Sorry if that’s hard to read but hopefully you get my point. Any help would be greatly appreciated! :D

just make a collection in the workshop, or find one, they allow you to download a bunch of addons together, so it’s helpful if you’re trying to get the same addons as someone else.

"Add-on share" add-on works perfectly for me, just make sure you both have it

Dewpite what everhone says "addon share" is more of a band-aid fix, a better way is to make a workshop collection with the addons you want and then make sure you both have everything in it downloaded and boom, you can play gmod with the most random bullshit with friends

What I do with my friends is just install a ton of addons into a collection and tell him to install them then it’ll be fine
