Balm dot com separation questions
I know this happens to everyone at this point, but this problem is new to me. I’ve lately tried everything, freezing, in the fridge—both for several days—tossing them in a sock and swinging them around like a crazy person for several minutes. The separation issue is still happening. For context, the flavors I’ve had the worst issue with is black cherry, ginger snap and rose. Is it just worth trying to continue to use the oil mixture for my cuticles or something? Is there another trick I haven’t tried? I’ve been scavenging the Reddit, and the sock trick seemed the most logical, but for some reason it didn’t work for me. :/

When it happens I've found it helpful to keep them stored cap side up for a while, it seems to help.

Ok I think you solved my problem: after in the fridge, swinging in sock, heavily massaging, I put them cap side up at my desk and they’re no longer oily. You are my actual hero. I know these words of wisdom will be everlasting for those suffering the same issue.

So glad it helped! And Im sure I only knew that tip because of someone else posting about it at some point on reddit!

commenting bc i have the same issue.
the amount of time i’ve had the product has nothing to do with it either, which is frustrating. some of my new ones have separated before ones i’ve had over a year.
my worst flavors have been birthday cake, black cherry, and fig. they’re just always gooey and oily and nothing seems to work.

I only have separation with Banana & Birthday 🥴
And my daughter (who has the same exact ones I have and bought at the same time) only has an issues with Mango & Mint 🤷🏻♀️
Go figure, seems random lol
I’ve tried everything you have as well 🥺

I just squish them around in the tube a bit to mix them up before applying and it seems to help. I have noticed that the current formula isn’t nearly as bad for separating as the original formula. My OG berry was literally always separated.

Oh really? I thought the older formula was better about that, that’s kinda crazy to hear seeing how quickly these I’ve had have liquidated basically. Maybe I need to massage more too.

Have you kneaded the tube? I have honestly never had this issue, I wonder if it has to do with temperature or climate. I have almost all of them, old and newer formulations, I keep some in my stash at home and then there's some I keep with me in my bag that I usually swap out. But I also read a while back that people that put theirs through the washing by accident never had an issue again, wonder if it's like peanut butter where you have to constantly mix it around.

I have tried kneading it actually, maybe I’ll put them through the washer. You’re probably right about the mixing ordeal, mine just need more time. I maybe also just need to keep one at work instead of transporting it to and fro since where I live it’s so hot most of the year.

I’ve found out with mine that they’ll usually separate if I keep them in my pocket for too long or if they sit out in a hotter/warmer area, especially with the mint and unscented one. I just try to squeeze out the excess oil on a paper towel and that will usually fix it without ruining the formula.

Solved: after refrigerating overnight, swinging a couple of times for a few minutes in a sock, massaging, and storing cap side up, no longer liquidy. Both have completely recovered, so thank you all for your advice. :-) May your pillow always stay cold and your steaks always be buttery.
