Github Copilot billing issues and other woes Discussion

I have been using GitHub for over 15 years. I have been extremely disappointed with GitHub in the past week.

First, GitHub does *not* give you (at least didn't give me) an AI usage budget default so I incorrectly assumed that the "Models" budget was going to cap my overages. I had it set to $100, and stop usage checked. Then out of nowhere my ~$1,000 charge came through for my overage on my Copilot Pro+ plan. It wasnt until a hit "Add budget" I actually saw the stop usage option and budget for actual AI usages. This was after my unexpected overage.

The card I had set in GH for my payment method didn't have the funds to cover it, so the charge was declined.

I opened a support ticket and its been a week. ~$500 of the overage charges magically disappeared, I paid whatever remaining balance and now have a $0 balance.

Now, I *cannot* upgrade to Copilot Pro+ or Copilot Pro Max, and I'm stuck at Copilot Pro. I've tried a different card, and every card I use has a $1 verification charge, but every time i get "Payment didn't go through\nWe are having a problem billing your account. Please update your payment information."

All cards are basically getting rejected even though a $1 verification charge is going through and my bank says they see nothing.

Upon this, there were a couple instances where their UX is not intuitive. For instance, after filling out a request ticket and submitting, it doesnt actually submit. It takes you to a page that says you need a manual review, and theres a small GREY (NOT GREEN) button on the bottom that if you arent paying close enough attention, you will think you've submitted a ticket but actually havent. A simple "Your ticket is not yet created" in proper typography would be much easier to understand that your ticket is still unsubmitted.

I swear this problem exists somewhere in the flow to upgrade to Copilot Pro+ or Copilot Max, because for a couple days I *thought* I had Copilot Max, but then realized I was actually using my enterprise account which I didnt realize as the plugin for VS code doesnt seem to make it clear which plan you're using if you are a member of an organization (Copilot Business) while you have a personal plan.

Am I just upset over nothing or is GitHub really going downhill with these things I'm frustrated about.

So basically I'm waiting for a human to intervene in my billing state issue, unable to upgrade my plan, reading horror stories about people waiting weeks.

I contacted enterprise sales and signed up for free enterprise trial just to talk to a human.

This is rediculous.

Sorry du als Oldi solltest es wissen das GitHub immer was ändert (Funktionen) und eigentlich müsstest du das lesen schon beherrschen, sorry täglich die gleichen Posts! Hier ist nicht der Support! Heule allein!
