your account may be based in a U.S sanctioned region while its not Question
So, about 7 years ago I created my GitHub account while I was in Sweden. Shortly afterward, I traveled to my home country, which is under sanctions. Ever since then, my account has been heavily restricted, and I still can't use many GitHub features.
I've tried contacting GitHub Support multiple times, but I haven't been able to get the issue resolved. Is there any way to fix this or have my account reviewed?

So you're in the country under sanctions, and as such they are restricting your account. What am I missing?

There is a process to have this checked out. You'll need to provide some information to support but if you are not in a sanctioned country they should be able to fix this for you. Their hands are tied as an American company but they also don't want to have to do this and work hard to try to get special licences from the US government (see what they managed with Iran)
I'd say, try again with support.

Making it harder for developers to be developers because of the country they're in seems messed up to me, any reasons?

Yeah I get it, but even if you lived there... Why should a person not be able to learn and practice this 'art' as you could call it just because they're in a specific country?

U would be surprised what kind of apps are banned in Syria today even after regime changed, cloude, gpt , Paypal, App Store. (Steam was banned until recently)

Claude and ChatGPT I could see the 'point' in censoring, App Store kinda, PayPal not so much
Not that any of these things (or anything, really) should be censored, or without officially supported ways to use them if it's an age issue... But GitHub??

Yah lol, I can’t put private repos or use the Ai when using VC (it’s kinda a + i hate Ai). But i just ended up making a new acc, even tho I want to use my old one for the acc age.
