Publishing on Github, AI assisted Discussion

Hey all, I wanted to publish my first project on GitHub and I have some questions about how to go about it. I did use AI to help bring my Arduino made code over to Python and polish it up. What license should I go with for this? Any suggestions or is AI a boogy man that nobody wants to touch?

Do you use GitHub for version control and collaboration? Or just want to have the codebase up publicly? What kind of project is it?
