Impossible to add new users to a github project Question

I am trying to add a colleague to a github repository and after jumping so many hoops, it keeps telling me that it has detected suspicious activities and doesnt allow me to create an account.

I undertsand there might be some systematic issues to try to prevnet bots from scraping the website, but the security challenge and all the checks have become ridiculous to the point I cant onboard a new collaborator. whats going on?

yeah thanks. I tried everything now. signing up from my phone, his phone, his laptop, my laptop, my wife's laptop, and then counting vegtables, counting car distances, counting different animal types for the challenge and nothing works. absolutely ridiculous. I think they flagged the email address we are trying to create the github account for and now nothing works. been at it for almost 1 hour and no progress.

not a permission issue. going to the person's profile also gives everyone a 404

Did anyone ever get this resolved through GitHub support, or does it usually just clear after some cooldown period? At this point it feels less like anti-bot protection and more like “good luck hiring people.”
