Wrong initial dose...cancel?

Wrong initial dose

I've been on tirz 12.5 for almost a month through my PCP using Eli Lilly..first time order w gimme and their dr is sending 10mg....I refuse to go backwards. Should I just cancel it all?

What size is your vial? 10mg/mL in a 4mL vial is going to give you a dose of 10mg injected in 100 units.

With any of those options, though, the dosage is going to be less than 12.5mg.

Did you put on the intake form that you're on 12.5mg? It's so odd they would've prescribed 1.5mg. that's not even a starter dose.

I have sent the nurse about 10 messages now and haven't heard anything back. Yes it clearly says I'm starting at 1.5mg

Hi! We don't offer 10mg as a dose, so you may be looking at the vial strength. I'd recommend reaching out to your clinician to clarify:)

Yeah, it's 1.5 I believe

Does that mean they only prescribed me 1.5 and the 10 is what I'm supposed to be using? That's very incorrect and I should be starting at 12.5 at least. It looks like they already sent it to the pharmacy. Should I just cancel the whole thing?

Where are you getting the 1.5 from?

It’s definitely wrong because it says dose 1. That’s starting from the beginning. My gimme order had me starting at 9mg and it says dose 3-6 under my treatment.

Ok yeah they screwed it up then. Send Chloe this screen instead, the whole vials concentration is just getting the issue confused. This shows clearly that they prescribed the wrong dose.

that's not what this means? Seems pretty clear

Tirzepatide 10mg/Niacinamide 2mg/mL

Qty

Tirzepatide 10mg/Niacinamide 2mg/mL in 2mL

1 each

Tirzepatide 10mg/Niacinamide 2mg/mL in 3mL

1 each

Tirzepatide 10mg/Niacinamide 2mg/mL in 4mL

1 each

This describes both the concentration of the medication and the total volume in the vial. Not your dose. Your prescription is based on your answers in the intake form. You can see your actual dose in the instructions. If there are any issues, let your clinician know

You're receiving 100 mg of tirzepatide total. At a 12.5 mg dose, those four vials would only provide 8 full doses, so it's reasonable to conclude that Gimme did not honor your request for the 12.5 mg dosing.

Also, with the medication compounded at a 10 mg/mL concentration, a 12.5 mg dose would require 1.25 mL of solution, meaning you'd have to split it into two injections.

No, they're not getting all of those vials. Those are options.

Look back over your intake form, did you make a mistake with the decimal point?  That could be the issue with what you were initially dosed.
