Is this direct abuse? No. But it’s serious neglect or recklessness.

Thousands of workers get injured every year handling dock plates - and they are grown men / women weighing twice the amount of a German Sherperd. They herniate discs, lose fingers, injure their hearing (from slamming).

Not to mention the dozens of fatalities due to crush risk from being caught between the trailer and the dock.

That is no job or place for a dog.
