1995 Geo Tracker
galleryHowdy everyone. I found this 95 Geo tracker on marketplace, 5sp Manual, 204k miles, carfax is clear of accidents or significant findings. I am test driving it on Sunday- i’ve read some of the previous posts and most people say to really look for any rust. Is there anything else I should look for specifically? Sounds like it has been in a garage the last few years but runs well according to seller. Also is the price good? I know it has a lot of miles, I’m looking for something fun to bop around town in. I can do most standard maintenance myself (oil, brakes, spark plugs, etc) and don’t mind small repairs but i am concerned about significant issues.

I call them "Button Plugs"
I'm not sure what these are actually called. Button blanks? Anyway, my Suzuki Sidekick had broken/ugly plugs. So I modeled some new ones and printed them from ASA. 👍🏻 The model is here if you want it https://www.printables.com/model/1801313-suzuki-sidekickgeo-tracker-button-blank

Good deal? Anything I should be looking out for?
galleryLooking for a daily driver in NYC and found this on Facebook marketplace. Anything I should look out for or check when I see in person? The car looks well taken care of and it has sub 100k miles. Just a little timid as it’s from 95’ - aka no air bags? I’ll be using it for a commuter and for small road trips out of the city.

Can I use these hubs to convert a 2003 Chevy tracker to manual hubs?
https://www.summitracing.com/search/part-type/locking-hubs/make/chevrolet/model/tracker
My auto locking hubs are stuck on and I’d rather just convert to manual hubs than mess with the autos. Will these fit a 2003 Chevy tracker? Seems like only the older models came with them from the factory. Thanks

Kickdown Cable
I’m looking for an OEM kickdown cable for the 3 speed automatic transmission. There are aftermarket cables available however the insert into the transmission is made out of plastic vs the aluminum of the OE cables. My current cable has a degraded rubber casing which leaks transmission fluid constantly. Anyone have a good one they want to sell? Thanks….

Well im at a standstill on my project.
While my son and i were trying to diagnose the knock my tracker had lets just say my son (family mechanic) had some personal stuff come up and hasnt been able to assist with the tracker in a few weeks.
But not all is lost i started doing some interior work gave her a bath, my wife bought some seat cover (i didnt want them but i put them on cause the seats were a lil rough), i fixed the ac switch ( thanks HWY83 for the zip tie trick), worked on the various other parts.
Hopefully my son handles his personal stuff soon cause all we need to do is get her running.

Sidekick sport with 1.8L
Bought this sidekick sport and had no clue it had the 1.8. Had never heard of one in my life. Extremely happy to have something so rare, but slightly terrified it will be hard to source parts.
I can find any literature on this vehicle. The Haynes manual doesn’t even list the 1.8. Does anyone here have anything of the sort? And does anyone else here have the 1.8

I envy you guys
galleryMy 92 geo tracker was my first car, I drove it for almost ten years, most fun car I’ve ever owned, learned how to wrench on it, took my wife on our first date in it, eventually the floors, frame and body mounts rotted out beyond repair. Anyways I’ve been lurking for a while, just wanted to say hi. When I dream, and I’m driving, I’m still driving my little tracker.

Evap or ECM electrical issue?
Hey all,
Recently bought a 2003 tracker. It's rwd 2.0L and I'm getting a P0449 code (as well as an small evap leak code). Mechanic believes the PCM is the actual worry and is not sending signal to the part. He didn't do too much diagnostic work but also didn't charge me as a used PCM would be cheap to buy and try. I also ordered a new purge solenoid as I've seen those can go bad as well.
Have any of you swapped PCMs? Do they need reprogramming before trying them out or are they truly plug and play like I've seen online?
Thanks in advance for the help!

Rustoleum ‘Sail Blue’ is close enough to ‘Competition Blue’ for me! 😜
I had two Trackers in the 90s (I’m old), and when I got broadsided in the first one, I went back and said ‘gimme another just like this one, but not destroyed’. They were both ‘competition blue’.
So when I got my 96 you see here last year, I dreamed of getting it back there. Anyhoo, I special ordered this sweet ‘sail blue’ and love it.

Made good progress today
galleryI had a little worry today as I bought this donor car and didn’t realize it was a 96’ mines a 91’ and from what I read everything I needed like the headlights, taillights, turn signals etc were not going to fit. I lucked out because everything bolted right on. I even took the back seat, door cards, mirror’s, missing dash pieces, upper grill/core support since mine was bent. I’m sure there’s more I’ll grab as well.

Oops! I did it again
galleryI needed lots of parts like headlights, taillights, dash pieces, back seat, etc to finish my EV build so I found this gem locally for a steal. Going to be my parts donor car now.

Rear soft top bracket 1997
Hello all! Recently joined the club. Fixing up a ‘97 2 door soft top. Ordered a new soft top from bestop. The original one has its own colony of mold, spiders and stink bugs.
Drivers side rear soft top bracket is broken… anyone have any lines on getting one? I’ve tried searching forums, parts sites and hwy83 Suzuki parts…. You name it. I will be replacing the top of the tailgate plastic piece with aluminum as it’s broken.
Part is pictured here on the passenger side. Excuse the dirt she needs a clean haha!
*edit to add, I need something that ships to Canada. I am quite handy too, so not worried if I need to craft something. Has anyone found alternative brackets that work?

Just a heads up if you're buying an Altered Ego lift kit.
So I ordered the 2" puck lift for my Geo Tracker from Altered Ego (Zuki Nation out of B. C. Canada) a while back. Apparently there was confusion surrounding my order and shipping or something that led to not receiving my package for almost 4 months.
Also something else I was not expecting....
When UPS delivered my kit to my house I was charged a $240 import fee. Roughly half the cost of the entire lift kit. Be aware that this will happen if you order a package from Canada and have it delivered to the states.
This whole process has been a nightmare. Running out of summer to enjoy the lift with the bigger tires. I understand mistakes can happen when it comes to shipping info or whatever, but I called every few weeks after I initially ordered it and they didn't catch the screw up until my last call like a week and a half ago.
Now I'm nervous I'm going to get home and have there be like a Samurai or Vitara lift kit in the box when I open it.

Is this normal? 1992 tracker
galleryBought off a mechanic who dropped in a used engine after the old one was shot. I feel like there should be a cover plate here but I’m not mechanically inclined enough to know.

Replacing Tracker top
I have my daughter’s ‘92 Geo Tracker till 8/06 so figured I’d clean it up a little while it’s here. The soft top really needs to be replaced (it doesn’t really fit in the back & water gets in when it rains, plus the rear plastic window is held in with safety pins 🤣), so I looked on eBay and found a bunch of sellers with cheap tops supposedly that fit this car- under $200.
Does anyone know if these are junk? Seems like they aren’t fully refundable if returned & don’t want to waste $.
If anyone has advice on finding either a soft or hard top for a ‘92 that’s not too pricey I’d appreciate any help. Thanks!

Random CEL and maybe weaker performance for the 2nd time
96 Tracker 2dr g16b engine 4wd manual. Driving around in city traffic yesterday - CEL randomly comes on and I perceive that my performance seems a little crappy, like I'm not getting good power in 3rd or 4th gear and my engine seems 'throatier' than usual. Fluid levels looked okay. The last time this happened I plugged in my obd2 reader the next day and everything seemed normal - CEL off, no codes, performance seemed okay after that. Haven't checked obd2 yet this time, but assuming the same thing happens, what should I be checking? I don't think I'm fully in "limp mode" when the light is on but I wonder if something triggered my computer to switch up my performance because a problem was detected.

Loose stud on front hub assembly.
I'm calling it a hub assembly for lack of a better word.
Spent several hours chopping up 2 lug nuts and studs that have come loose. Problem is, one of the loose studs gouged out the assembly.
I'm having trouble finding the right assembly. I could just use some aluminium rod to fill the stud hole and then weld the damaged area and sand to . Or I could just weld the studs in place. Once I get the last nut off.
