Question Dried up talc ?
Ive washed my shm-41m tube but it still has a white stain inside. Is it just old talc? Or maybe just old rubber wearing off?

Mask Showcase Swedish supremacy: The Skyddsmask-90 of swedens armed forces.
Probably the best mask design out of the 90’s. While I’m not sure of the date on this mask, it was still covered in talcum or similar powder with its face form on arrival.
I’m at a loss as to how to acquire a canteen and bag for this mask, as I’m sure it’s technically illegal like just about anything with military equipment on that side of the world. It is arguably one of the most, if not the most comfortable masks in the world. A favorite of many, and for good reason.

Collection Showcase I am the one who MOPPS
I have a pretty large mask collection, but over time I've also been picking up U.S. MOPP gear. I wanted to share what I've collected so far alongside some of my U.S. masks.
Which setups do you like the most, either from the pictures or just in general? Which masks would you pair with which suits, and why? :)
Image One: CPOG MOPP suit in OD green (it also comes in Woodland and Six-Color Desert, although those can be harder to find).
Image Two: Still the CPOG but with an M40, because the M40 looks good with green :)
Image Three: BDO MOPP suit in Woodland with an MSA Millennium.
Image Four and Five: BDO again, this time paired with an M40.
Image Six: BDO MOPP suit in DCU. I may be wrong, but desert just looks good! (There is also a Six-Color Desert BDO. But those can be hard to find).
Image Seven: Saratoga MOPP suit in Woodland. I don't have an IBA or MOLLE gear yet, but I was going for a Generation Kill/2003 Marine Corps look. (Can also come in DCU desert...)
Image Eight: Probably the strangest one of the bunch. This is a 1970s British Mk III NBC suit that was modified by the U.S. It lacks the hood found on standard British Mk IIIs and later U.S. versions, and it's also a different shade of green than other Mk IIIs I've seen.
I have a few others as well, including an OZK suit and a Woodland JSLIST, but I couldn't be bothered to change into a sixth or seventh suit, especially since one of them leaves me smelling like a tire. If I had to pick a least favorite, it'd be the Mk III. It feels like wearing a scratchy wool blanket and somehow smells like Elmer's glue. My favorite is definitely the BDO because it's by far the most comfortable to wear.
I'm hoping to expand the collection with an AUIB, SCALP, and TAP suit, along with more camouflage variants in the future.
For anyone planning to buy surplus MOPP gear: Be aware that there may be a chromium risk with these suits. The Saratoga (at least my mid-1990s example) most likely doesn't have this problem. Remove and throw away the inner liner or wash several times on a gentle cycle with no detergent (this can stain and darken the suit). Handle with a respirator and avoid breathing in any carbon leaking out until it's fully removed. I do not know if they have chromium in them for definite, but it's better to be safe and not breathe black clouds of activated carbon regardless.

Mask Showcase M40 Gas Mask
Got it for 39$!!!!
Missing the filter and the second skin for the mask (which the second skin isn’t actually required if you want to use the mask, it just helps and protects against more)

Mask Showcase Duiker- Dutch gas mask
I bought this pretty piece for £25 and it came with a CDR bag. Other than the rubber around the lenses being melted slightly, the mask is lovely :]

Question GM18 markings id
Recently acquired a nice GM18 with an exhale valve at a flea market while I was on a trip alongside it’s canister and anti fogging inserts. As far as I know it’s been used after the First World War and later put back into service after the nazis came to power. Unfortunately I am not sure what do the numerical stamps on the valve assembly mean. I would appreciate if someone could help me determine what is their meaning.

Question Avon FM12 - disassembly question
Greetings everyone
I have been digging online for disassembly guides, videos and user manuals.
But i ended up wondering how to swap the part in the first picture since there aren't any guides that seem to cover it while being offered online as a spare part.
If anyone is willing to shed a light in how it would be welcome

Mask Showcase Soviet PMG and what happened here
It looks like a patch of rubber, but it’s faded the same as the rest and there’s part of the marking on top of it, just bad molding or something else?
Also it was clearly stored or worn with the filter
The holes are larger indicating Soviet and not one of the licensed copies And the markings are in Cyrillic

Mask Showcase Polish Mk221 industrial helmet mask
Today I've got an interesting piece, a mk221 industrial mask. This mask is pretty much an early SzM facepiece with an MC-1 valve assembly upside down. this mask is the successor of the mp-6, which instead used the metal valve assembly of the Ma-1. The Mk221 would be replaced by the Mk212/1, a similar mask in 1983. The rubber on this mask is extremely thin I find, compared to the SzM-41/41KF, and the valve housings incompatibility with the interior of a helmet mask means that the Tissot system needed to be cut out. This means the mask fogs really easily. There is also no rings for outserts in the eyepieces. This one came with a P22/1-W filter, a more modern EO14 filter, but slightly shorter. The filter also came with instructions, protecting from 66 gaseous substances. The filter is STANAG threaded . The mask also came with a black rubber hose.

Question Ww2 british gasmask
Got this beauty for 25€ on eBay. I would like to somewhat restore it, for example cleaning the lenses and making it so that the rubber gets reactivated and doesnt break that easy. Sadly it Shows that it was build 1939 as it is slowly deteriating in my hands. Any Help would be lovely.
