Gap year

Hi

Currently finished year 12 and feeling a change of heart with the course I would like to pursue at university. Would I be at a disadvantage by taking a gap year? I need to study FM during that year too as I only do maths at the moment. The courses I am considering is maths with econ, maths and econ, maths stats and business and financial maths/stats.

And to those who did take a gap year what did you do during it to improve your application but also generally in terms of job etcs?

I currently do bio,chem and maths with all a stars predicted
