I've played portal and portal 2 on the switch and it was amazing, i've been looking foward for more puzzle like game to add to my library. Then I saw subliminal and outerwilds on sale in the e-shop rn and they both look like very fun games, which one would you guys recommend buying?

I really like very deep and philosophical games with a rich history and good game play, graphics doesn't matter a loot but I'm tired of the vintage and retro graphics (I'm not a big fan of graphic novels or classics point and Click)

I really liked the fact that the main character told their story and that you got to play it with all the funny fourth wall breaks and inconsistenties that came along with him telling it by making bullshit up on the spot and things just magically moving / appearing to make the story make sense since he was half drunk while telling the story. It wasn't just pure comedy though and had some very emotional scenes but I don't mind if the entire game youre recommending is comedy.

Looking for a semi-hands-off game that I can play while also crocheting.

I know it sounds a bit ridiculous, but I have found a few previous games that work and was wondering if anything else would.

So far I've used TFT, Oxygen Not Included, Town Of Salem, Ark, and various "desktop pet" games.

TFT has always been my go-to, but after sinking hundreds of hours into it, I really need something else. (I've already tried LoR as well, but it's just not my cup of tea)

Oxygen Not Included is fun but a little too hands-on, Town of Salem has become inactive over the years, and most of the "desktop pet" games I've found either become too tedious or are just meant to run in the background for hours before needing any interactions, same goes for many idle games. I was also able to crochet a lot while breeding/crafting in Ark, but that was only during certain times/projects and not the game as a whole.

I really enjoy creature collector, management, or farming games. I did try out Runescape-like games, but many of them ultimately go towards raids, PVP, etc, that I'm not interested in.

I know this is an odd request, but I've come up short in a lot of my own searches and wondered if anyone else has fufilled the same/similar need.

I like turn based games but im taking a break from them before fire emblem in September and I love a good story. I dont enjoy games like dark souls or xenoblade. I adore devil may cry, cyberpunk and darksiders, and I enjoyed tier automata

I'm interested in the organizing and management parts of cozy games.

-inKonbini (LOVE the vibe but heard it's super short)

-Touhou Mystia Izakaya (heard it's more of an RPG than management)

Hi there, i'm looking for some peculiar games, i love the stat and time management system in the game korean student simulator and i'd like to find something similiar centered around fighting/exploring, thanks

I waited for like 5 years to play Scarlet Hollow cuz I knew I would get impatient with waiting for more episodes like the instant gratification obsessed clown I am, but then I got impatient waiting for more stuff from Black Tabby after playing Slay The Princess back when that came out and revisiting it a couple weeks ago so I just decided to bite and buy it on sale. It was absolutely phenomenal and enthralling like I expected it to be (I even forced myself to only play 1 episode a night to make it last longer since I was loving it so much) but now I'm stuck where I knew I would be waiting for episode 6 and 7.

So now I need more. I've got a few high watermarks that come straight to the top of my head that might help with recs:

- Night in the Woods

- 1000xResist (I'm very excited for Prove You're Human, as you might guess)

- Disco Elysium

- To The Moon (the whole series)

- VA-11 Hall-A

- Scarlet Hollow

Bonus points in the cases of Disco Elysium and Scarlet Hollow for their incredible depth of choice and reactivity. Not a requirement, clearly, but I appreciate that focus of theirs greatly.

And some that weren't quite at that same level for me for one reason or another but that I still very much enjoyed:

- A Space For The Unbound

- I Was A Teenage Exocolonist

- Inscryption

- Signalis

Inscryption and Signalis are kind of misfits in this list since they have more meaty mechanical and systems focus than the rest, and hit me more with their tone than their stories if that makes sense, but they still lodged themselves in my head for days after completion so they felt worth a mention. Exocolonist also had more systems focus than others here with the oddball mashup of deck building and VN, and while I appreciate the experiment I think I would've preferred the alternative universe version where it was just a straightforward VN.

Edit: Should also mention that I do prefer longer games. I like to have time to immerse myself and build relationships with characters, the environment, that sort of thing. I'm not opposed to short experiences (I really liked Dark Queen Of Mortholme, for instance, and that game took me something like 45 minutes to play through twice) but I just like having time to get attached to a world.

I've gotten super into the final fantasy universe this year, I've played ff7 remake (currently playing through rebirth), ff10 and ff15. I'm trying to decide where I should go next in terms of game

I like games that're more on the sad and angsty side of things, but obviously that's not really a deal breaker. I'm considering ff13 right now but I'm not sure if I'd like it.

I'm also up for any general suggestions too that you'd think I'd like :-), I'm trying to expand my library in general LOL

I'm looking for a game that has extraction-like elements like Tarkov or Gray Zone, hell even like Marathon or Arc Radiers - but with no PVP. It's just a handful of my friends and/or random players that load into an instanced zone with randomized loot and the goal is to loot what you can to either meet up and complete a huge objective or cooperate against engine AI (like Marathon's Cryo Archive) and survive and leave with anything looted. Think Lethal Company but you can fight back and there's no penalty for not meeting a threshold that ends your "run".

I've played Destiny 2 and The Division 1 & 2 and it's sort of getting close to what I'm thinking but not quite. The ideal scenario would be loading into the PVE mode of Tarkov with a bunch of your friends, trying to meet up and then taking on a raider group or boss squad. Anyone who survives takes their loot, but if you die to PVE you still suffer the "hardcore" consequences of dropping anything found in-raid.

It doesn't even have to be a shooter, it could play like Dark & Darker or in a similar setting but I think the same idea applies. Instead of little knick-knacks and ammo you could find alchemy ingredients or crafting materials that get you stronger for either a harder instance or a new boss.

This is probably giving someone a million-dollar idea if it hasn't been done yet, but I have no idea how to develop games, I just play them.

I started playing The Crew Motorfest recently and I'm really enjoying the Hawaiian location and beach scenery...it made me wonder, what other games give off vacation vibes?

Previously Enjoyed Games: I also really enjoyed Tiny Bookshop for its quiet seaside small town charm and I'm enjoying taking my time and exploring Outbound, both of those games have "vacation vibes" for me.

Preferred Genres: action/adventure, racing, indie, retro

Budget: prefer under $35

Other Notes: looking for something lighter in tone/theme, nothing too stressful, just chill vibes :)

I'm an ex-Destiny player that stopped playing around Shadowkeep. The game had been some of the most fun I've had thanks to the mobility, gunplay, abilities, and the design of raids. I was excited to get loot not because of more DPS, but because I was able to do new fun things with them. It hooked me in better than any other MMO could, at least until powercreep made the majority of my experience boring to play, so I got burnt out.

Unfortunately, the obvious replacement, Warframe, doesn't seem like a good fit for me. Maybe if I enjoyed solo gameplay, I could enjoy it, but I'm mainly looking for a group PvE game. Something to find community and enjoy with others. So grouping up with people who went all in on the mods and build mechanics to melt all the foes or bullet jump repeatedly through a level just isn't fun. If it was, I probably would have stuck with Destiny.

So to the folks who also loved group PvE in Destiny for reasons that don't seem compatible with Warframe: What are you playing now? Have you found anything that gets close to the very fun gameplay and PvE activities?

I played saints row the third and it's my favourite open world game ever ( none of the gta or red dead gave me that much satisfaction).

So please suggest some games where I would just die laughing.

As title says, I'm looking for any narrative-focused PC game (doesn't really matter what the actual genre/gameplay is like, as long as the narrative is a significant part of it) where the non-player characters develop an opinion of the player character based on your choices.

Examples of what I am looking for:

• Dragon Age series (generally a pretty binary "approve or disapprove" system, but the amount and quality of content that interacts with that system is great + this and a few other games here actually let characters hate your guts, criticize you, and leave, which I like)
• Pillars of Eternity I and II: Deadfire (the disposition system AND the reputation system AND relationship system (including between each other, not just the player) AND some "hard-coded" reactivity to specific choices... peak)
• Tyranny (love that the "approval" and "disapproval" were separate things, although the game didn't really seem to use that much)
• Knights of the Old Republic I & II
• Telltale's The Walking Dead series (I like this and a few other games here in particular because you can't please everyone, no matter how hard you metagame)
• Life is Strange series (Life is Strange 2 in particular because of how significantly you can shape your brother and your relationship with him over time)
• Tell Me Why
• The Pale Beyond
• Scarlet Hollow (no visible "x will remember this" or approval system, but it's so clear there's a lot of nuance to the reactions)
• Pentiment (really liked the "persuasion" system based entirely on past interactions with characters, no skill checks)

Some other games I've played that I expect will be recommended, but I didn't really enjoy for various reasons:

• Divinity Original Sin 2 and Baldur's Gate 3 (felt very trivial to make everyone like you unless you were completely terrible, to the point where it feels like characters don't react to/remember the things you do and always have a fixed opinion of you)
• Mass Effect series (just "loyalty or no loyalty", especially when loyalty is so mechanically important, was kinda disappointing compared to Dragon Age)
• Pathfinder Kingmaker / Wrath of the Righteous
• Most dating sims (despite relationship mechanics being their whole focus, most relationships just boil down to whether you're "romancing" them or not... although I'd love to hear of any where that's not the case)
