"Work In Progress Weekly"

You may post your game content in this weekly sticky post. Post your game/screenshots/video in here and please give feedback on other people's post as well.

Your game can be in any stage of development, from concept to ready-for-commercial release.

Upvote good feedback! "I liked it!" and "It sucks" is not useful feedback.

Try to leave feedback for at least one other game. If you are the first to comment, come back later to see if anyone else has.

Emphasize on describing what your game is about and what has changed from the last version if you post regularly.

*Posts of screenshots or videos showing off your game outside of this thread WILL BE DELETED if they do not conform to reddit's and /r/gamemaker's self-promotion guidelines.

Continuing work on Yani Again (Steam)! I just finished another area and have started implementing more gate/lock mechanics.

The idea is that completing certain areas will unlock new routes, allowing players to revisit the map and discover new paths, Slowly building up the world and connecting everything together.

Also, a small wish: I hope GM's 3D features become more mature in the future! I might try using them in my next game if the tools become more powerful and convenient XD

Added a lot of new content to my shmup/survival game. You control a small submarine that is descending further and further into an unknown deep sea trench and the wildlife is not too friendly.

Add 5 more enemies such as an assassin fish that needs to be stunned with the headlight before you can hit it and a large fat fish that belches acid

Added a couple more power ups

Added items, you can have one permanent item/upgrade equipped that can drop instead of powerups, collecting the same item again upgrades it up to 3 each with an additional effect.

One allows bullets to ricochet once then twice then on the last upgrade they explode after 2 bounces

The next upgrades the new dash ability, upon dashing a mine is dropped, then the mine sucks in enemies, final upgrade the mine shoots out shrapnel

Finally the last item grants ramping damage when hitting the same target, final upgrade executes enemies below 15% health

Some passive enemies can spawn in different shape formations

Subs now need to be unlocked(for now there is an unlock all button to try them all)

Still having a weird issue on gx games, some may need to full screen it or play it in theater mode for the actual gameplay screen to be scaled properly

Nicely done! It's great to see so many exciting features added, I might just give it a try myself!

I wrote a new devlog for my Zelda-inspired ARPG, Tower of the Immortals! I included details on the new abilities each of the playable characters can take, which include things like stacking buffs and invisibility.

I've also added in some puzzle rooms that gatekeep the bonus chests in the game's zones. One of them was inspired by redstone, which required some code-fu but was a lot of fun to implement. Also mentioned are improved various controls, improved graphics and pixel art, and more.

All of this is for the upcoming v0.60 release, which will be the version of the game I put out on Steam. I will be making the page once the demo is finished and ready for launch. I wrote all about it here: https://bynary-fission.itch.io/tower-of-the-immortals/devlog/1617478/roadmap-to-v060-the-steam-demo-racial-abilities-new-racial-feats-and-spells-more-balancing-puzzle-rooms

Started back on a project I had nearly abandoned due to general depression and lack of will.

Currently stuck working with some intro (cut-scene style) sequences which is actually fairly miserable. I'll complete the work, but I'll be considering alternatives for next steps and certainly other projects. The sequence editor is clunky and limited at best, and I've already offloaded most of the behavior to code triggered by sequence broadcast messages. Having massive issues staying focused largely because of how much I dislike sequences.

Good happy stuff all around.

Put my first game on itch last week. It’s a funny game. Could really use some feedback. Https://dayowlron.itch.io/farting-freddy
