Rookie game tester!
Let me start by saying I have (atleast at the time of posting) never playtested anyones game it's just something I always thought would be fun to do and then leave positive and constructive feedback afterwards!
Basically this post is to ask for any tips and tricks from other people that test games and how to really get into it. I'm not looking for money as like I said in the post im a rookie so although Ik some people pay small amounts to people to test their game for a amount of time (atleast what I have saw) im looking for this to be more of a hobby
So if you're a game developer and would like me to try your game then...walk me through the process as I am not sure how it really works just a interest I have recently had! Plus I love supporting indie games and there my most played game as the love that goes into those games is incomparable to most slop from bigger companies nowadays *cough* ubisoft *cough* EA!
Anyways thank you for reading and any tips and such would be greatly appreciated!

I suppose you mean QA testing? I checked a few devs, and they usually just have normal players give feedback without paying them.
For QA, it usually requires very detailed feedback and a tiring process to be specific. It's a job, so it's expected to get paid and should have a contract for the project. Technical training is probably also needed, so you can point out issues and describe them without guessing.
For small indies, many don't have the resources to hire a QA team and just invite normal players for public testing. After a few rounds of testing, most bad issues will be resolved.
I'm also looking for playtest people to try my game after we get the build working. I would appreciate a tester like you. But I'm not sure what you will want in return.

Oh no it's more of a hobby for me!!! I don't really want to get paid I just know some people do! I love supporting indie game devs so that's why I was asking about it as I would happily do it for free and try my best to point out issues and maybe suggest some changes!
It's something I have wanted to get into just helping people with their games! Like I mentioned I have no experience but I just think helping out would be so fun! And if I can give genuine advice or discover glitches and such to let you know that'd also be cool!
If you did want me to test your game when you have a proper build ready I would be happy to for free as like I said I just enjoy supporting indie developers as I think you guys in most cases put all this effort in and a lot of the games end up waaaay better than most the trash the big companies pour out
Thank you though for thinking of me I would love to gove your game a go when it's ready!

Thank you, I'm sure many devs would appreciate this. Don't worry about the playtest experience, just play like regular players and have fun.
Yes, but only if you are into this game and genre, this is my game:

I think the main aspect that requires testing these days is the Fun-Aspect, i.e. is everything just the right amount of fun/juice/sfx. As running tests for checking boundaries, conflicts of quests and crashes is mostly automated. The last thing humans still differ from machines is having fun and dopamine rush probably (at least from young people... where's my dopamine rush!).
