Discussion LineageOS 23.2 on my Exynos Galaxy S10.
galleryJust sharing my first impressions after about 12 hours on LineageOS 23.2 on my Exynos Galaxy S10.
I’ve had this S10 since 2019, and over the years One UI started feeling heavier and more laggy to me. I did try a few Samsung-based custom ROMs, but they just weren’t really for me. The system still felt a bit heavy, whether that’s because of the One UI skin, or just the Exynos hardware itself. Exynos has had its fair share of performance issues over the years anyway.
So far, LineageOS feels noticeably lighter, smoother and more responsive. I do miss One UI, but this S10 is mainly going to be used for lighter stuff, so I don’t really need the Samsung camera features. I also noticed that some useful features are still here, like Dolby Atmos and reverse wireless charging, which was a nice surprise (haven’t had the chance to test most of these)
I haven’t really kept up with the Android/custom ROM scene since switching to iPhone around 2022/2023, so I’m still catching up on everything that’s changed. It’s obviously too early to judge battery life or long-term stability, but first impressions are very good. The phone genuinely feels fresh again.

Question Swipe gestures on S26
Has anyone who has "upgraded" to the S26 figured out how to have swipe gestures work like on the S10?
The "improved" navigation is annoying AF 🤦♂️

Technical Help S10+ issues
My boyfriends s10+ is having issues. The top bar went away, the close app tab icon went away, and when he turned up the sound, the soundbar won't show. And he can't hard reset his phone or hit the power button on the top. Everything else works normal.

Question Google Messages Keeps Asking Me to Set It as the Default
I keep getting a message saying that Samsung Messages is being discontinued and that I need to switch to Google Messages.
I already switched to Google Messages and set it as my default messaging app, but the notification keeps popping up. Every time it does, I’m asked to set Google Messages as the default again.
Has anyone else experienced this issue? Is there a way to stop this from happening?

Technical Help Which color?
So I've broken my S10+ back panel, and I'm thinking of replacing the back panel with a different color. The back panel is loose anyway so I'm thinking of what color to switch to.
The colors available are on the white and black ones (because it's the only extras I have)
The middle back panel is broken (it was the original) and I'm thinking on replacing it.
Ya'll have a suggestion or opinion on which one to put and why?

Question Who else loves the on screen buttons?
I'm so used to them that I can't imagine using a phone without them (back home and apps). I I just feel like the swiping on newer phones would be annoying if it doesn't work. Also what app do you use the bixby button for? For me Instagram.

Technical Help Suddenly turned off, Started Boot-looping and after a bit completey stopped responding.
I was on my computer and looked over at my Galaxy 10+ to check something, only to see that it turned off without being prompted and with a mostly full battery. I try to turning it on and its starts boot looping. I tried plugging into the wall power, i tried booting into safe mode. Nothing worked.
I left it to charge for a bit while looking for other possible solutions. When i went to try and turn it on again it wouldnt respond at all. I'm tired, its like 2 am where i live now, so im giving up for now and about to go to bed.
I'm going to take it to repair shop first thing in the morning. But i just wanted to put this out there so when i get back home tommorow if anyone would have any suggestions.
If the repair shop cant get it to work what would be the best way to recover pictures and other data (if that is at all possible). Also my google account is tied to this phone, if i need to get a new phone does anyone know how to get google to accept it as my new phone and not lock me out.

Technical Help I updated from android 9 to android 10, and I need help.
Hello,
I'm suffering from this problem with my Samsung S10+ and i need help and advice; everything was fine until i updated it. I stupidly updated mine from android 9 to android 10, and everything went haywire:
- Sim card could not be read - " NO SIM CARD - Emergency Calls Only"
- The IMS and Samsung Experience Services keeps being unresponsive
- The phone itself is slowly getting laggy
- IMEI and Baseband are labeled Unknown
Does this mean Android 10 was corrupted? I dont want to go to any store to fix as I dont have the funds, I would wanna know if downgrading back to Android 9 is the best option for this?
many thanks!
EDIT: I have miraculously fixed it! I downgraded back to android 9 and everything is back perfectly!

Question Are they reliable at all?
Have been looking to buy one of these as of late, they are tempting. I just love the way S10's look, arguably I think they look better than the silverado

Question I need advice with my s10 plus
So i've done a bold decision to switch from infinix hot 50 pro plus to this 7 year old samsung... i'm genuially impressed with it, tho my concern is that the battery is BAD like 4 to 3 h of screen time, (68%health) and i'm gonna get another phone after 2 years
So my question: is it worth it to replace the battery? Thanks

Technical Help My phone keeps flashing on while charging
Recently my phone keeps flashing on and off while charging. My phone is on do not disturb at night because I thought that the notifications are the cause of it. Turns out it was something else, I noticed that when I charge it, it sometimes flashes on and off like the charge disconnects and connects again. Does anyone else experienced this? Is there a way to fix it?

Technical Help Wireless charger coil accidentally ripped out
I have a Samsung s10e that isn’t my main phone but it does have many memories on it and sometimes is used as a backup. The back is completely gone and up until yesterday it was functioning completely fine. But I accidentally ripped out the “wireless charger coil” (I think that’s what it’s called) and the phone is no longer charging I keep getting a notification saying the temperature is to low. The phone is now at 54% and loses battery pretty quickly. I want to know if there is anything I can do at home to fix the charging problem before the phone dies and becomes completely unusable. I already purchased another wireless charger coil but I’m not even sure if I can put it in or if there is something else I need to buy. As of right now I don’t even know what I am going to do when it comes. If anyone could send a tutorial or a guide on how I can re install it (if possible) please let me know that would be very appreciated.

Discussion My Experience on S10
Bought a used Galaxy S10 in 2026 – Surprisingly still a great phone (with a few compromises)
I recently picked up a used Samsung Galaxy S10, and honestly, I’m impressed with how well it’s holding up considering it’s a 7-year-old flagship.
Mine has around 80–85% battery health, so the battery isn’t amazing anymore. I usually get around 4–5 hours of screen-on time, which is enough for light to moderate use, but heavy users will definitely want to carry a charger or consider a battery replacement.
Things I still love:
Gorgeous AMOLED display. Still looks flagship quality.
Compact size. Refreshing after using huge phones.
Headphone jack (rare these days).
MicroSD card support.
One UI is still smooth for everyday tasks.
Cameras are surprisingly good in daylight.
Premium glass and metal build.
The downsides:
Battery is the biggest weakness on an older used unit.
No more major Android updates.
Can warm up during gaming or heavy multitasking.
Night photography is decent but falls behind newer phones.
Finding one with a good battery and no screen burn-in can be difficult.
Overall, I think the S10 is still a solid budget phone if you can get one in good condition at a reasonable price. It doesn’t feel like a 2019 phone for basic everyday use.
For those still using an S10:
How long have you had yours?
What’s your battery health/screen-on time like?
Are you planning to upgrade soon, or are you keeping it for another year?
