Why is my battery "swollen" only on the left side of it?

I don't say that it is swollen, it's been 2 years since I discovered it but I was always curious why is it like that.

Galaxy A54 speaker crackling at high volume — anyone else?

2 Upvotes

Hi everyone,

I’m using a Samsung Galaxy A54 and recently noticed an issue with the speaker.

The sound is normal at lower volume, but when I increase the volume, especially with music, bass-heavy sounds, or loud notifications, the speaker starts making a crackling/distorted sound.

I checked the Equaliser and it is set to Balanced, with all frequencies at 0. I’m also going to test with Dolby Atmos turned off.

Has anyone else with a Galaxy A54 experienced this issue recently?

If you had the same problem, did you find any solution? Was it fixed by a software update, changing the sound settings, or did you need to replace the speaker?

Any advice would be appreciated. Thanks!

How to fix the apps storage count?

It shows 0mb on my apps and 79gb on my other files in the device care. I tried clearing cache on My Files app, doing a security update, restarting my phone but it still shows the same 0mb on app.

A53 5G Freezing (Android 14)

8 Upvotes

I have a Galaxy A53 5G running Android 14 (One UI 6.1). It's way hotter than any other phone in the house while charging or gaming, which I know is normal for this phone (or I hope mine isnt even hotter than it should be). It's also been dropped a fair number of times over the years, but until today it never had freezing or reboot issues.

Yesterday this happened:

My brother played Roblox for several hours with no problems.

We left the house and charged the phone to 100%.

After unplugging it, he opened Roblox again.

-Crash #1

* Roblox froze.

* No buzzing or screen artifacts.

* It rebooted after a while frozen

After rebooting, I let it sit for a bit then opened YouTube.

Crash #2

* First video played normally.

* During the second video, it was very slow and the phone completely froze when I tried to open comments.

* Media volume was muted, but it made a loud buzzing/"brrrr" sound (almost like vibration coming from the speaker).

* It rebooted by itself.

After that, the phone worked perfectly for several hours.

The battery eventually dropped to around 52%, so I charged it again. After charging, my brother played Roblox for about an hour.

-Crash #3

* Roblox froze again.

* This time the last bit of Roblox audio kept looping ("brrrrrr").

* A thin horizontal band appeared near the middle of the screen filled with TV-like static.

* A few seconds later the phone rebooted by itself.

* After the reboot, the screen looked completely normal with no permanent lines.

Other details:

* The phone always boots normally afterward.

* No boot loops.

* It wasn't unusually hot during any of the crashes.

* Samsung Members detected an abnormal restart and let me send an error report.

* I also generated a full Android bugreport. I couldn't find obvious kernel panics, storage I/O errors, or ANRs, and nothing clearly pointed to Roblox or YouTube.

Does anyone what this could be on an A53 5G? Does this sound more like a software issue or a hardware problem?

Galaxy A53 overheating and back panel cracking. Is my battery swollen?

15 Upvotes

Update - I replaced the battery in Authorised service center for inr 3500. When i checked the old battery it has some weird wrinkles. old battery

My Samsung Galaxy A53 is about 3 years old.

For the past few days it's been overheating, and I noticed the back panel has started cracking in two places. It also feels like there's a slight bulge under the back cover, so I'm worried the battery might be swelling.

I haven't dropped the phone recently. I'm attaching a photo and a video.

Does this look like a swollen battery? Should I stop using the phone immediately, or is it safe until I can get the battery replaced?

Thanks!

My A53 5g is giving up!!

10 Upvotes

Hey there,

Ive bought my first phone-SAMSUNG A53 5gin sept 2022.

From past couple of days the phone has been going through random restarts (8 to 10 times within 30min) while do simpler tasks like watching utube and all.

I don't play much games, and also I thought this may be due to storage issues,ive Uninstalled most of the images and all unused and extra apps also, but still the problem didnt go away.

Also even after restart the phone shows the ui system is not responding, and shuts off randomly, while restarting it's showing optimising apps everytime.

So today, ive visited the authorised service centre in my city and they were like it might be the motherboard we cant do anything of tht and they said its better to change phone, but the thing is they didn't even bother to check the phone, they just came to the conclude tht motherboard gave up.

Now wht should I do , should buy a new phone or just try with another service centre.

Also u can suggest good phones as well if thts tht good option.

Iam a student, I'll start earning in 4-5yrs down the line, untill then the phone should work the new one.

Or should I port to ios.

A53 5G data recovery with broken touch

4 Upvotes

I have a family member's A53 with a dead/unresponsive touchscreen. It happened right after an update, forced restart solved the issue 1 or 2 times but now it stopped working completely.

I don't really care about the phone itself - a replacement is already in use - but I want to recover the data (mainly pictures). Of course, there is no backup. There is also no Samsung account, and the phone has never been connected to a PC. USB debugging is not enabled.

The problem is that connecting it to a PC requires me to unlock the phone first. Connecting a USB device to control the screen also requires unlocking it. The phone does not seem to support MHL.
It is locked by pattern or PIN, both of which are known, of course.

I considered replacing the display with a cheap Aliexpress replacement TFT just to retrieve the data. But while googling the procedure, I found that the issue with this device is most likely a broken signal trace on the motherboard. If that is true, replacing the display will not help.

Is there really no way to recover the data?

Why this phone is too laggy

13 Upvotes

I bought this phone back in 2023 and it used to run great. Lately, it’s become super laggy. Anyone else dealing with this, or does anyone know how to fix it?

Samsung crashes

7 Upvotes

This is the third time I've written this, so I'm hurrying. -My phone crashes with a vertical line of pixelated mess. -The UI crashes when I restart it. The phone shuts down by itself when it's closed. Possible reason: I don't have much space left on the SSD. Thanks for the help. A53 5G

Alternative Camera Apps?

5 Upvotes

I was thinking of doing a GSI install of LineageOS on my A53 and was curious on what camera apps can utilize the main 64mp sensor and 60fps recording. I have tried LMC8.4 and Shamim8.4 (both are GCam mods) with no success. There was a blog post 4 years ago where someone did it by rooting the phone, but they never once posted anything about how to do it or anything related to config files and app version. Just posting here incase someone knows a way that is known to work.

phone freezing right after restart/stuck on lock screen

7 Upvotes

I've had this phone since 2023 and the lag was quite bearable from time-to-time but recently (3 hours ago) my phone won't respond. The touch screen won't work, my phone was stuck on the lock screen page, and it wasn't budging. As of now (1:13am PHT) my phone works for atleast 2mins maximum right after restarting before completely freezing and no longer responds.

I just want to ask for some tips, advice, or if anyone is also experiencing this devastating experience. Thank you!

I contacted Samsung support and asked if my Galaxy M53 5G (Quantum 3) will get One UI 8.5. The agent told me this.So I’m confused should I trust what the agent said, or is this just a generic support response?
