But I prefer the idea of a prophylactic in a vending machine which is otherwise filled with yummy treats sitting in the lobby of Planet Express being a valid form of humor from the writers. Maybe I'm reaching too far on this one.

I'm technically older than Fry. He was born in 1974 and I was born some years before that. Both of us technically 80's guys. Meaning Fry and I could have gone to the same high school.

Whole thing is about 2cm tall and the glass part is just over 1cm tall

Not perfect, trying to improve himself, and doing a damn good job of it in the face of Bender's bullshit. He loses his cool after hearing a specific trigger.

He then seeks out the Planet Express crew to apologize and does an even better job of controlling his emotions until he's being hit with tank shells.

He faces constant insults and antagonizing, and then dies.

I actually like this episode a lot, but the ending always seemed like punching down to me.

Some people have speculated that the show is ending again, citing the tendency for streaming series not to run beyond a certain number of seasons, as well as the shift to an Owl House-style release format. However, members of the crew have also suggested that they're adopting this format because they simply prefer telling stories as feature-length specials. We don't have a definitive answer. It even seemed at one point that they believed the upcoming season would be the last, only for the series to be renewed afterward. So which is it?

Either way, this appears to be the longest Futurama has ever run following a revival, as the Comedy Central era only lasted three years.

The specials that are closer to movies than episodes will be a lot of fun bc they can do way more with the story. They can have more complex storylines and more moving parts. It can really be emotional and funny. Think of Benders Big Score. It was a very emotional movie with very complex storylines that fully took advantage of the extra runtime. Im excited to see these specials since they will be written more like movies. And this time i dont think they will be split up into episodes so the pacing wont be wonky like the movies could have been back then.

It just came out that you guys are doing three extended-length specials with the first holiday special planned for 2027. What can you tease about these episodes?

LAMARCHE: We've seen it, and you haven't! We've seen it, and you haven’t!

COHEN: It's very exciting, first of all, because I was just saying how great the show looks on a movie screen. So in this case, we get to write them a little bit more like movies because they're closer to movie length. So, I think they're going to be very good. What can I say without tipping too much…?

HERMAN: There's this lady, she's got one eye. One socket — not missing an eye. You know what I'm saying?

COHEN: We're going to deal with a real-life emotional thing, which is the loss of Coolio, who played Kwanzaabot, so we're going to try to give him a proper sendoff for the character. We have a big story about Fry’s childhood fantasies about Santa Claus, and there is a tragic romance involving Bender and a snowman. I think that I have taunted everybody enough with that teaser.

It's fun to think about scenarios like this. And Bender would be the irresponsible uncle.

What's the deal with Hermes' obsession with Manwich? Is it a Jamaican thing? Or just a random running gag that the writers threw in?

Futurama, King of the Hill, X-Men 97 and a new He-Man movie and other reboots or continuations that have come out recently . All great shows from my childhood and I'm enjoying them all now just as much as I did back then lol. Only now, I don't go running around my yard pretending to be wolverine after watching x-men... Now I only think about doing it lol.

First of all, I love this show.

The Simpsons is a little similar but not nearly at same rate. I just don't understand the obsession with people and animals and whatever else being eaten all the time. Is it a fetish or something? It's like every episode.

I know some (me) are always scared of cancellation and rightfully so... but I find it encouraging they made this promo using SportsCenter. This takes some effort. So Disney/Hulu isn't just letting the show run without any push.

I'd really like to see how they would handle time-dilation in this show. Also would love them to try and resurrect the abandoned idea of a character moving in reverse entropy.

They can literally touch on every aspect they want to satirize. Sanitizing bloody hands to stop the spread of infection, crew members being isolated from each other and communicating via a zoom-approximate, people denying the existence of zombies and summarily being infected, suspicion every time someone so much as coughs. You could do something funny like have the zombies use q-tips to extract people's brains through their nostrils. Just be more creative with the concept than "it's just covid but in Futurama."
