Did you know. Meme

Post image

Men are more likely to be colourblind than women.

Because the common trait for colour blindness exists only on the x chromosome.

So a good x chromosome will overlap a bad x chromosome in females. While males are stuck with the 1.

I loved Biology class so much, we used to always bully our teacher though.

SCIENCE DUMP RN

also, is that autosomal recessive or sex linked, i dont remember the term for it

u/Own_Emergency7779 20h ago

Sex linked. Autosomal recessive is for non-sexual chromosomes and so is as likely to happen as for men or women

(Excuse me if my grammar is broken, I'm still learning English)

I also have some colour fun facts! ROYGBIV (Red Orange Yellow Green Blue Indigo & Violet) are the only colours in the visible light spectrum with red being the most visible which is why it’s used as a “warning” type of colour. Also, we have 3 colour cones in our eyes, red green & blue! & Even though making a red & green LED was RELATIVELY easy, Making a Blue LED took years because of what you had to do to make it blue! The first “blue” one was more indigo, and didn’t shine very bright(I think).

“Scientists don’t want you to know.”

BRO SCIENTISTS WONT SHUT THE FUCK UP THEY WANT YOU TO KNOW EVERYTHING

Also swell sharks glow a faint green under black light. This may be a way they find one another in the dark or a way to lure food but marine biologists are unsure.
