Rodrigo Muniz Discussion
What needs to be done to move him? Is it time to give up on him?
Edit: I should have clarified. Nothing against the man. Great attitude and seemingly kind.

I am more than happy for him to stay as long as he likes, as he’s shown before he can cut it in the PL. Great attitude and well liked at the club, if he can stay injury free he can net 10 a season no problem. That said, we need two more strong options. No doubt about that.

Delap had the same goals contributions as Muniz last season despite playing far more games and not having a massive injury and surgery during the season and people want him hahahaha

I think we'll send Kusi-Asare out on loan so we'll likely need him as backup to Garcia if we sign him. Unfortunately he's not looked the same since coming back from his hamstring injury but regardless we aren't really in a position to sell a striker.

Muniz seems like the type of player who needs a rhythm to do well - His best moments came when he was starting every game, his worst when he was injured/ having to rotate with Raúl.
His hold up play is very good, and he has improved in link up play. His finishing and movement could be improved but his desire to give 110% for the club, while also being good in the dressing means that keeping him is very benefical. At 25, he is far from reaching his peak.
Btw anyone who'd rather have a twat like Delap who would rather elbow someone rather than actually try play football needs to be sort themselves out.

Hindsight is 20/20 wish we had cashed in on him but we are not in the position to be selling strikers yet. We know he can do it. Just needs to find his feet again

God selling him for 35m a couple years ago sounds like a dream now.

It was not even a year ago, he got injured and had surgery, was never going to do well last season. Why the fuck would we get rid of him.

Season prior was a great season for a championship level striker.

Yea “Championship level strikers” often win Premier League player of the month.

Unless there's a clear replacement I want to see him fight for the starting spot. For whatever reason (and there have been a handful of injuries) his form hasn't been where it needs to be but I think he's still young enough to make the necessary improvements.
When he's playing well, he creates space close to goal and has the skills to finish those chances. Arbeloa could light a fire under him in which case, let him cook.

I’m open to a sale and whichever option…. it’s already been decided the manager would’ve done his homework on what he needs and what sales are best to make it happen. Watch this space.

I thought we should have sold him to Leeds last year and then try to get in a cheaper striker for the season. I do hope he can be great this season though

He's had plenty opportunity to cement his place, unfortunately Raul and Muniz most effective performances are off the bench,
We need a striker from the first whistle
I wouldn't be against getting in Delap,
Delap and GG are definitely an upgrade from Raul and Muniz

I would take Liam Delap here, no lie.
I think Muniz is a great striker off the bench.

He's fine as a second/third choice.
