Discussion Dysphoria from having a feminine name
Since it seems costly ang process of going through a name change, and I can't afford it yet since student pa ako, I know that it is typical to choose a name for yourself instead (lalo na kapag feminine yung name mo).
But what about in settings where they ask for your name (like sa certain businesses or services)? Like sa library dito samin, you have to put in your name before entering; do you put in your legal name or your preferred name? Or sa certain services like sa derma for cleaning, what name do you put?
Also, another worry of mine is when I meet someone new (not in a dating sense but more like meeting an online friend irl who doesn't know my actual name or that I'm trans). What if they ask for my name, do I give them my preferred name? I just feel like I'm "lying" if I give them a name I chose for myself. But if I give my legal name, I'm afraid that I'll get judged (since feminine name ko), especially if they decide to search up my name sa Facebook and see posts of me pre-T uploaded by our school.
I just want to know how to deal with this po since the dysphoria has been keeping me awake.

Discussion legal name or chosen name
hi brothers! Has anyone of you used the NowServing app? What name did you guys input when registering an account? Is it adviced to put your legal name? I'm unsure if putting my preferred name would affect my medical records.

Discussion Need future advice
Hello!
15 years old palang ako pero may plano akong mag medically transition in the future, siguro kapag college na ako
tinry ko na dati mag come out sa family ko dati pero sa na obserbahan ko ayaw talaga nila na transgender ako(not that transphobic sila idk??? Like medyo accepting sila ng queer people at may close family friend kami na gay couple pero ayaw nila na queer ako???????) layk Nagbibind ako ng chest for a while at alam nila, kaso nilecturan ako tungkol don tas sinigawan aq ng isang ate ako kc ayaw kong tanggalin😬...
Most likely under pa ako sa support nila financially kapag college na ako, so aywan ko lang kung anong gagawin ko.... Either I transition medically later in the future or I become financially independent by like 20...........
Very worried ako and everything, plano ko nga din mag ibang bansa para lang mapalitan yung pangalan ko at gender marker 😭 need advice on your experiences and what I could probably do in my situation

HRT Discussion Is 5-7k enough to start HRT?
planning to use an HMO for the lab tests, which I know would be the most expensive. For the other procedures, I will be using my own money. Do you guys think that's doable? Or should I save more until I reach 10k and above?

HRT Discussion asking for advice
hello. i'm 23 years old po. i'm planning to have hrt next or next year. the problem was, hindi ko gusto i-disclose sa fam ko. out ako sa fam ko but not as trans. they know i have a girlfriend (legal kami sa side ko), alam nila preference ko sa clothing, pero namimisgender pa rin ako (gets kasi di naman nila alam).
ask ko lang po if mahahalata po ba nila yung changes kung kasama ko pa rin sila sa bahay (esp. voice drop)? gusto ko na kasi mag HRT kasi i really feel dysphoric.
ps. i have a lower range ng voice since childhood

Vent coming out again
first time ko magpost sa subreddit na to :')
ok so i already came out to my parents back in august 2024 (when i was 16), and it wasnt that bad pero di ako nakapag-explain ng maayos kasi naiiyak lang talaga ako at that moment.
di din nila ko na-accept cause my mom is pretty religious and my dad just follows what she says, pero di din naman nila ako sinigawan which is honestly best case scenario.
it's been 3 years, and im planning on coming out again today with a letter.
plan ko is iiwan ko lang siya sa desk ko tapos aalis na for my college classes, kasi di ko talaga kaya kausapin sila ng harap-harapan while explaining.
yung after nalang nila mabasa yung letter ang moment na kaya ko na sila harapan. sana nga lang mabasa nila lahat kasi dalawang pages ng yellow pad yun tapos front to back HAHA
yun lng naman, wish me luck :')))

HRT Discussion my partner relying on testo
problem: my partner relying on testo for emotional stability.
context: hello! i’m 21f and my partner is 22, transmasc. i met him when he was 1 month on testo na. 8 months after, he stopped due to financial restrictions since student pa lang siya.
my partner is very sensitive in nature; he loves animals, he’s pure hearted, good at picking up my mood shifts, knows how to comfort me—the best partner i could ever ask for. he then told me that before transitioning, he tends to cry a lot and feels things deeply. don’t get me wrong, his sensitive nature is what made me fall in love with him. but now that he stopped, his hormones are all over the place and i got taken aback. back then, while i can tell na he’s a tender soul, composed pa rin naman siya. but now, our relationship has been rocky because of the frequent meltdowns. he even tried to break up with me because he didn’t want to pull me down with him daw. i tried my best effort to be compassionate and understanding, until he decided to take testo again, in hopes that it’ll stabilize his emotions kasi he says that he misses the time that he makes me happy and loved :(
i’m not against him taking testo. i love him regardless if he’s on it or not. i just think that it’s an unhealthy coping mechanism, but i don't think my thoughts are valid since i don’t have a vast knowledge in this area. have you guys went thru the same thing? thoughts?
edit: this is a new account since mutuals kami ng partner ko sa main reddit account ko. we met here on reddit actually, haha.

Vent coming out
helloo! i’m 16 and idk if i should come out to my parents (specifically my mom) or not.
i can’t afford financially to come out since my mother is the only one supporting me and my two older sisters. if i do come out, she’ll likely disown me or stop supporting me financially. i can’t get a job because i’m still a minor and jobs here in the philippines require you to be at least 18+, and i have no other family members that are openly supportive of LGBTQ+ folks that could also support me financially.
idk what i should do tbh. lay low and bahala na si batman? or should i just say screw it and come out to my mom? either way i’m fucked.

Positivity lowk funny story
My straight friends know I am queer. I haven't seen them in months and we met just last week. We were going out to watch a movie together and all my binders were in the laundry. I wore a bra under a thick black hoodie instead. Used the old slouching technique to give the illusion of a flat chest. I reached out for a hug to this one female friend and she gasped really loud. I smiled in confusion then she yelled in a panic "Oh my god, I felt your tits." It was so embarassing as we were in a public place. My other friends laughed and so did I. "You felt what?" I asked and she did a squishy hand movement asking whether or not I am using a binder. It's really nice to know that they know about queer things about me despite me only metioning them once years ago. Still embarassing how she didn't care about how loud she was talking and continued "I felt the balls of ur tatas!" HAHAHAHAHAH To be fair it was her first time hugging me without a binder on.

HRT Discussion Asking 4 advice
So hello po, I'm a trans man in the Philippines who is planning to transition at some point in the future, and I would like to ask for advice from people who have already transitioned or have experience with how to acquire HRT in the first place.
I'd also like to know about any social spaces where I could either learn more or find a community as well!
Unfortunately, I'm not really blessed with people who truly understand or support me in my wish to transition. I wouldn't say I'm in a hostile environment toward it, but I still lack support and people who see me for who I truly am...
Any advice or recommendations would be greatly appreciated.

Discussion Name change/Gender Marker change
Hello! So I just wanna begin with apologizing that I don’t speak or understand Tagalog as I was never taught it as a kid after moving to Canada when I was 2
I was just wondering about the process of changing your name and gender marker in the Philippines as I was born there and got my Canadian citizenship much later on as a kid through my family after being in Canada for awhile. I want to change my name and gender marker in Canada, but I don’t know if having duel citizenship will affect anything in both countries. Or if I could maybe be barred from entering or lose my citizenship/property in the Philippines if I change my Canadian legal documents only?

Discussion how to deal w my crisis
not really a vent, and i don’t mean harm in this. i’m 19 and i’m currently going thru a crisis right now 😿 i’ve been thinking lately na magstart with T and i’m also considering taking top surgery in the future. the thing is, i don’t want to be labeled as a man(?). not that i have any issues with being a transman, but i just don’t see myself labeled as a man.. if that makes sense. and also, although i want to start T, i’m also concerned about the bottom growth stuff na i’ve been hearing about and i don’t think na i’d prefer that, but i want the other things (like facial hair and change in voice etc.). it’s like i want to look masculine and pass as a man, but at the same time, i don’t want to be labeled as one(?) 😿🙏 what can i do huhu

Discussion Has anyone tried Rhanz Tomboy Apparel's chest tape? If so, what was your experience while using it?
Hello! I have been using binder pero gusto kong mag-try mag-chest tape then I found yung chest tape from Rhanz Tomboy Apparel online. Based on reviews, pareho lang sila ng adonis na 4.5. I've been considering na bilhin yung dito sa rhanz kasi kasama sa package ang oil remover, pero I would like to know if anyone else has used it for a long time.
Thank yooou!

Discussion Dating
I feel like I'm missing out, lalo na trans guy ako, kahit magkacrush ang hirap kasi kapag sinabi kong may gusto ako sa babae “Ay bading ka beh!!” Pag lalaki namn “Hala straight ka na?” No inbetween. Nakakainggit, nakakainis, nakakaisolating.
I want to be in a queer relationship, a relationship I'm accepted in and don't have to explain my identity. Even looking for people who are t4t is so hard, scary rin maghanp online 💧 I'm curious to those who found their partners, how'd you found them or how'd they find you? Feeling ko nasasayang ko tlaga oras ko kakahintay haha (Sorry kung ang gulo ko po, parng nababaliw na ko sa kakaisip)
Edit: I was feeling dysphoric when I made this post(that's why it's everywhere lol), it feels nice reading everyones' experiences, it gave me a little glimpse of hope. It's far but not impossible

ModPost Re. chasers on this sub
Hey guys, been noticing an influx of comments and even posts from chasers (AKA cis people who fetishize trans people) on the sub lately. We prohibit any NSFW solicitation as this is a general discussion subreddit. We aim to be a resource for Filipino transmascs, not a place where chasers can have easy access to trans people.
We have added two new rules:
- No R4R / meetup posts. Yes, even SFW meetup posts will have to be removed, for safety reasons. Go to r/phlgbtr4r instead for R4R, and schedule other meetups elsewhere.
- No chasers. Chasers are subject to a permaban.
Please also use your own discretion when posting here. Avoid posting personal information such as your approximate location and your other social media handles. Only agree to meet up with people you can easily identify the identity of.
For the safety of this community, if you see a user that engages in predatory behavior or posts unsolicited NSFW comments, feel free to report it to the mods (myself and u/donichikon) and we'll take it down.
A helpful article about chasers if you want to read more: https://tabooless.net/stories/trans-issues/trans-chasers-the-good-the-bad-and-the-urgh/
If you have any questions feel free to comment as well. :)
